Just today I saw a black snake about 3 feet in length in the garage, how do I get rid of it?
Unfortunately,Ive got a real full garage filled with stuff and lots of tool boxes which is where he took off to once I saw him.. I really don't want to empty the garage so I was wondering if you smart folks knew how to make a snake leave the area? I was thinking about leaving the garage door slightly open tonight and playing Rap music. That would work for me,,Thoughts?

I would just about trade you the black snake for the dang field rat I watched jump off my mower deck and run in my garage today.

If you don't mind dealing with the smell a few days you could spray some ammonia around and see if it would leave. About anything that lives close to the ground can't deal with ammonia.

Moth balls

And

Pine Sol!!!

Snakes hate pine Sol!

If u don't mine your garage smelling like it....the snake will leave. I think it burns their skin and they don't like the smell

I’ve had some big black snakes in my garage and front porch from time to time. A large cup of water thrown on them usually gets them to scoot away pretty quickly. No harm done and not much if any clean up.

Well a course, this is how ya put the fire out after they slither off

Had some evil looking snake that was not afraid of me slither under my riding mower in garage. I left garage door cracked open about a foot and he left over night. Must not have found a place to live and nothing to eat. We do seem to have mice around though. Get one in the kitchen or attic about once a year. Just bought the little boxes with green mice food/poison inside yesterday. Heard one in the wall in bathroom (was going to say powder room but thats upstairs where all my gun powder lives) next to garage. They usually get in during cold weather and its been cold at night lately.

Well, good news.. I left the garage door a few inches for a couple of nights. Looks like he wandered off, haven't seen him in over a week now.

They do that to lull you into complacency.

I'll take a 5ft black snake with lumps in the middle every day over the 2ft copperhead I killed the other night at my sis-in-law's house. I'm just glad the GSD alerted us to it or someone would have stepped on that SOB.

BTW copperheads don't like baseball bats.
