I also call that a "cherry" but its actually a hackberry. 98% sure, since the Hackberry bark is pretty unique.

I’ve got some at the house that don’t produce and some do. And close to 50 ft tall. There’s a big version and a little version. Usually the little versions make more fruit than the big ones. Based on the leaves and the bark, Ima stick with persimmon.I know what persimmons look like and never seen any on or around this tree.

That was my first thought from the bark, but it's not gray enough and the leaves/flowers are wrong...That looks like a shag bark hickory to me.
Any hulls/husks around it?
