Go Shoot IDPA - Sanford NC - 6-16 @ noon- brand new match

Only four squads of ten this first match, then six squads thereafter. No cover garments required due to summer, and he's inviting folks to come with other game rigs to try it out.

Me bride, 3 sons, 3 DIL's and grand-kids will probably be over @ lunch.
That's an impressive brood there! Congratulations.

I have two (grown) kids two hours away and my wife just texted them both to tell them they won't be able to reach me Sunday afternoon.

No cell signal...
*wink* *wink* *nod* *nod*

Can I get the physical address? I'm a hour and 20 out but I don't get Saturdays off so Sunday shoots are awesome for me..

Didn't realize it was on the practice score website.

It’s at the practiscore link I posted.

FYI it is not the most obvious/visible range from the road unless something has changed. But it is basically the only turn in the area. Google maps satt view makes it obvious.
Glad you mentioned that. I'm seeing woods, farm fields, and the Deep River, in Google sat view. But no range that my old eyeballs can discern.

Edit: I see it now. Helps if I get off of Bing maps and into Google maps

And FYI for others shooting Sunday, it looks like Google Streetview images there are from July 2016

Sometimes he has a sign up on the side of the road. Just know it is a sharp turn off the road.

Yeah, if you are coming from sanford or 421, after you pass the chicken plant, be looking for a gravel drive on the left that cuts back sharply. If you make it to the river, you've gone too far.

Is this match still on?
I was just on Practiscore and registration was closed, 17 shooters i think, and C Tilleys name had been removed...

I hope this is still on, I was going to observe....and learn.

I think one can learn alot observing Chris Tilley.
As a newbie, I can learn a lot from watching pretty much anyone! I hope to see Mr. Tilley some day, as it seems he's not going tomorrow.

I'm guessing they just closed registration since it's the night before the match, and they won't see anyone else who registers between last night and this morning. Since everyone was in two squads it wouldn't surprise me if they resquad everybody into three or four squads which will make it go faster than just the two.

What he said^^^.

Scores here.

Daren Marceau did a great job with the stages and setting up the match. It was a lot of fun.

One thing to mention for those who like to show up and shoot, Daren will have these matches posted on Practiscore monthly. Maximum per squad will be ten shooters. I think this is a great idea because shooting matches at 1PM in the summer gets hot, and having more than ten in a squad can cause things to run long, too long.

So if you plan to shoot it, sign up when it gets posted, and don't miss the fun.

Agree with what others said. Match today was a lot of fun. The pirate stage was super cool.
I just connected the name with the face. I believe you shot with me, and Bert. You know, the other old guy who had conjugal ammo.
:D

Next match sposed to be on 7/21. Hope you can make it!
As a bonus you'll get to witness me going to war with steel!!
Shooting at those wittle steel targets from a squatting position was like whacking at a pinata’ blindfolded.

...without a stick. Lol

@fieldgrade
Do IDPAers hate PCC as much as USPSAers? If so I may have to try it
They should require concealment. Have that stick slung tight up into your armpit under a trench coat like the movies.

I'd be willing to come shout about how long your make ready takes, regardless of actual time involved.

I may try to make the next, Sunday matches suit me better.

Daren didn't require concealment yesterday due to the heat, and since it's a 1PM match, I would be surprised if it's ever required the rest of this summer.

I know some of you are heading to Boone next weekend but is this match still happening?

Better late than never I suppose:
I contacted the MD and the word is this match will resume in September.

He had a July match, and August match is on their calendar for August 24th.

He told me there was a scheduling conflict with other matches for July and August..o_O

I just saw the August match on the calendar and didn’t ask him about it, but we definitely shot the July match.

Edit: My bad. Wrong match.
