Thinking about the bottles of liquor that I got from my father, I started thinking about some decanters that I bought from a friend about 8 years ago when he was selling his house. He owned a package shop for 40 years and had a room full of decanters. I bought a few. They really are cool. I gave my son and SIL a bottle of Jack Daniels in a clear bottle not in the shape of any that you have seen in 30+ years. It had Jack Daniels written/painted on the bottle. I told them do not open it.

I used to do a tremendous amount of international travel. As best I remember, there was a route that handed these out, a different design each week or month. Iā€™ve had them forever.

Jeppo, what country? Nice
Iā€™m not sure at all but Iā€™m guessing the airline might have been KLM, somehow tied in with Northwest????

Iknow of a guy in Rock Hill SC that must have 50 or 60 of those Wild Turkey decanters. Won't part with any of them. Is the Robert E. Lee thing a decanter, or just a figurine? It's very cool.

Robert E. Lee is a decanter. everyone that was posted is a decanter.

Jeppo, are you sure they are liquor decanters from Amsterdam?
When I fly now, I am lucky to get a .10 bag of peanuts.
Iā€™ve never opened one. Iā€™ll go shake one, maybe thereā€™re peanuts inside. :D

I learned to love Scotch watching my grandfather enjoy the brand he bought at a discount chain drugstore. Today, a ā€œnormalā€ bottle would would set one back around $350.

"Since the 1950s, we present every World Business Class passenger with a unique gift: a Delft Blue miniature traditional Dutch house, filled with Dutch gin, also known as genever.

Each one of them depicts a real Dutch building. Every year on 7 October we celebrate our birthday by presenting a new house.

Over the years, our miniature houses have become desirable collectors' items, generating a lively trade amongst passengers. "
