Revolver Picture Thread

For us unsophisticated types that don’t recognize anything other than the fact we’re looking at a revolver...

What exactly has been Bubbafied?

Barrel cut from 5 1/2" down to 2 1/2" and re-crowned.

S&W factory revolver adjustable rear sight installed (originally fixed rear top strap groove sight)

S&W "style" front sight fabricated and installed (originally a blade style sight)

Matte hard chrome "Armalloy" finish on frame, barrel, & cylinder.

Bright hard chrome finish on hammer, cylinder release latch, and trigger.

Action work performed.

I've posted history on this old Colt several times over the years. It's a big and heavy snub for sure. Custom work done decades ago by John B. Williams Gun Smithing in Fullerton CA. No longer in business and difficult to even Google any info results. Lots of written reference in old gun books. This revolver mentioned, pictured, and number mentioned is several of Dean Grennel's older gun books...Book of the .45, Pistol and Revolver Digest, etc. This Colt was owned by Dean's brother "Ralph".

If I ever decide to get rid of this Colt it is headed your way Bubba....uh, Billy.

Probably 10+ years ago forum member "edwardyoung" hooked me up with this revolver. He knew of a guy out Texas way that was the current owner. I acquired the gun and Edward gave me the two books pictured of Dean Grennel's.

Upper gun is a Wolf and Klar 4 inch, nickel, King Reflector Sighted, Pearl Stocked Registered Magnum from 1939. The grips are not original. All else is as sent. I have heard from reliable sources that there were 29 4 inch nickels made???
The bottom is a Well Used Pre Model 27. A .357 Hand Ejector from 1953. All Original with numbered grips.

Ya'll will rue the day I ever learned to post pictures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got in new G10 grips for the SP101 and installed new Fiber Optic.front sight... ended up bugging up the roll pin, so ended up using the Dremel to smooth out the sides. Probably will just end up giving the whole gun a buff to get rid of the surface scratches.
Gun looks worthy of the @chiefjason holster now.IMG_20190628_195858.jpg IMG_20190628_200011.jpg
