Your latest alcohol purchase

Just re-bought a bottle of Bibb & Tucker. For some reason that run out more than anything else that I have.

Also, a 24 pack of Miller Lite

The Russell's and the 1920 are quickly becoming favorites for me.

Have you tried the Uncle Nearest yet? Thinking about opening mine this weekend.
Nope. I bought it because of your comment on another post and read some reviews. I know where there’s more if it’s good. I’m building a bar in my basement and am trying to stock it.

The Russell’s and the Elijah Craig are barrel picks. The OF 1920 was the last bottle they had. Liked the Statesman so I wanted to try it.Glad you like it, probably means I didn’t waste my $.

This sounds like something good to drink and maybe grap a few for future speculation.

That was a good "documentary".

If it's the same one I watched it was called "Neat: The Story of Bourbon".

Was that the same one you saw?
So, I watched the documentary and it was a fine piece. Now, I have had 2 vodka tonics, a bloddy mary and 2 beers and I'm properly drunk! I didn't want to sully the bourbons I had on hand after the vodka, so I think I'll watch it again tommorow and just stick with my drink of choice..... Bourbon!

Stopped in at the ABC store today to browse and see if there was another Rye whiskey that I may would want to explore, didn't see anything that struck my fancy... wandered over into the scotch...ABC has Islay whisky on special....the Laphroaig and Ardbeg are old friends and were getting low.....the Bowmore is a new friend.

Nice, I take it that you like peaty.

The more the better. Of all the regions, it my favorite, that being said, I was able to trace some of my ancestry back to the Islay region, so it maybe a genetic predisposition, alas I've been unable to find any long long relatives that own a distillery.

Good haul! I'm guessing you are going to like the Bowmore! I keep some in my cabinet. Cheers!!!!

Picked up a bottle of "Blade and Bow" for a buddie this afternoon. Did I do good or do I owe him an apology?

I’ll say they do better with packaging than bourbon. Much better bourbon out there for the price.

I guess this is why I can’t even find 1 bottle anywhere

There's mounds of it in Texas. $29 per fifth. $37 for the liter. I have never seen one in a store in NC. I was able to buy a Weller Antique 107 at the Siler City ABC store, but they had it in the back and you had to ask for it. Never saw a Special Reserve or 12 Year or CYPB in NC.

I can’t find any Weller recently in NC, Virginia, or South Carolina.

From watching the national boards (on Facebook) Texas and Ohio seem to be the only two states that have any Weller on a consistent basis.

But, my buddy in Texas that picked up the Special Reserve could not find any 12, and that is different from a year ago. The 12 has too much heat on it right now. He said most folks in Texas still consider the SR to be a "lower shelf" selection but that is changing by the day.

I need to start making out of state friends.

Dalllas Tx (last two pics are Lewisville) four different stores:

Was gifted a bottle today. Have you tried it yet?
You get given a lot of juice! You must be a good guy..... No I haven’t cracked it open yet. Let me know if you do!

Where is the 107

Not sure.

I know I am in the minority when I say this, but I don't really like the 107 so I don't pay as much attention to it as I do the others. I have tried all of them except the CYPB and of course the new Full Proof that just got released. I REALLY like the SR and the 12.

I have not managed to procure a 12 yet. At all.

The guys in Ohio post 107 fairly regularly.

I have "accidentally" acquired 2 bottles of 107 in NC. One was at my local ABC where they recognize me, they asked if I wanted one they had in the back so I bought it and gave it to a guy at work who likes it. The other one was picked up for me as a gift from a friend that lives up towards Asheville.

For whatever reason there seems to less heat on the 107 towards the mountains. The picture below is the last pic that I saw of 107 posted by NC guys. This pic is at Granite Falls ABC on June 29th. Probably (maybe) gone by now.

I think maybe the guys have said that 107 is often easier to come by in Georgia as well but I won't swear to that. I'll try to keep my eyes out on those boards. I think that Virginia is probably only putting Weller products in their state lottery now and not on the shelf. Not sure about South Carolina.

Snagged the last bottle of Col. E. H. Taylor's Small Batch bourbon tonight at our ABC store. It is on the "one bottle only" shelf - that is, you can pick only one bottle TOTAL per visit off that shelf, regardless of how many different brands they have there.

We'll see if it is all that.

I found a bottle of 12 in Georgia earlier in the year and it is quite good
