It's my actual gun and it's back. Hard to tell what all they did, but did see something about an extractor in the brief notes, I think. They sent me a new magazine and kept the original one. Friday I'll take some rounds and go test it out at the range!

I'm so glad this gun is back! Now I have to get the nasty rubber original grips off and put on the nice ones again!

Also, I got the FedEx guy's info into my phone (at his suggestion), so now I'll have a better idea of when he's in the area.

I can't wait to try it out Sunday, have ammo will travel.

Ok, I went to the range today to try out my RIA 9mm, freshly repaired.

All did not go perfectly, but the 2 failures to feed I'm hoping were just new parts breaking in, and not simply breaking! Otherwise, I shot about 150 rounds with it, and it's as accurate for me as ever, and I still love shooting this gun! LoL. It's awesome!

I'm going back in the morning and giving it another go, then Sunday "my precious" and I will be off to Battery Oaks! I'm sure Billy will lock the gates, as he's probably had about all he can stand from this particular gun of mine.

We'll see what happens in the morning, though. Button Pusher joined me at Jim's today and got photos of the issues to show Billy and/or RIA. He only had 2 range bags with him this time....traveling light! lol.

What’s it doing? Is there an unejected empty case in the way of the round?
Spent case is ejected, fresh round is not feeding properly.
Magazine is brand new from Rock when they returned the pistol after replacing the extractor.

You're not seriously asking me that, I'm sure. LoL.

As far as I know, the round just didn't get where it needed to go, and the gun stopped working. No empty case fell out when I pulled the slide back the rest of the way, only the unfired round. I put it back in the magazine, and did all the stuff you do, and that round fired just fine. The first time was with their new magazine, next to last round. The second was with one of my CMC magazines, about 3rd from last round. Both were early on in the run of 150-ish rounds.

(Is this telling you anything? Anything I can use to help me figure it out?)

@Millie Maybe I missed this upthread. What mag did they send back? Black or stainless? Mecgar branded, made in Italy?

What I can tell you, and I hesitate to humiliate myself thusly, is that I don’t remember ever even firing a 1911. :(

Black, and I'll have to go get it and look....brb....lol.

Ok, black and no markings other than the # of rounds and "1911-9mm" on it. The pusher-upper of the rounds is plastic, it looks like and there's a plastic piece on the bottom that looks like it might slide off for cleaning. (It doesn't, though.)

Yeah, don't start, or you'll be hooked! Trust me, you don't need the aggravation. (Or buy higher-end than I did....lol.)

Risking still further humiliation, I didn’t say I’ve never owned one (nor did I say I don’t currently own one...or more). o_O

Ahh, so you're basically just saying you're senile and can't recall firing your 1911s, correct?? Aren't you a bit young for senility, though?

Sounds like what shipped with mine. I’m not happy with its behavior, and won’t be buying more of them. I’d try something different if you have other 9MM mags.

Too purdy to shoot. ;)

I can’t really tell for sure from the photos but is the back of the cartridge slightly higher than the nose in the chamber ... kinda like the it’s nose diving into the chamber?

The only others I have are 4 CMC magazines. I do not want to buy more magazines. (Shall I clean the ones I have? That solved an issue with the Sig awhile back.)

If I have to send the gun back again, I will. I spent money to get a gun from these people back in March or whenever it was, and I want one I can shoot. Like you said, rinse and repeat. Lol.

I'll see what goes on with it the next two days. Many eyes will probably be on it at Battery Oaks on Sunday, so we'll see.....

It didn't seem to be tilted to me, and BP didn't say anything, and he's been around guns a lot longer than I have. He'd have noticed.

Just looked at pics again, and all the straight lines are parallel, the case lines and the port lines. So I'm guessing the round was not tilted....I may be totally off....lol.
