Hey!
My daughters’ school offered a pistol safety, competence, and competition course as a half-day summer camp all this week. (CO2 pellet pistols)
My older (11yo) daughter is attending and told me she needed a belt for a holster, so naturally...

Thanks @gunbelt for making a great product, and @Jeffncs for the belt!

Nice!

I take it this is not a public school!?

Man do they grow up! It seems like last week I drove the Cobra out to your place to buy those eclipse glasses from them. Probably been a year and a half or more.

What model is she totin’?

Charter school in Chatham County. They are very open minded and try to be equal with all perspectives/experiences, which I think is great.
They offer a bunch of different summer 1/2-day week-long camps, and kids from any school can attend.
My younger (8yo) daughter (below the min age for this pistol camp) did a dissection camp, which she loved.

Yes! She has grown like 5 inches taller in those past 2 years!

It is a Sig. I’ll find out the details.

The CO2 pellet pistols they are using for the class are Sig Sauer M17. They are a pellet pistol replica of the new military contract version of the p320.

I didn’t get to hold one, but they are a pretty realistic replica of the real pistol. They have functional ambidextrous thumb safety, and drop free magazines. They are a blowback design, although you do not have to rack the slide to chamber a round ( they are being taught to rack it on loading and to show clear after dropping a mag, but it actually doesn’t do anything). And the trigger I believe is DA only. These pistols can be field stripped, and the instructor has the kids disassemble them, clean them and reassemble them at the beginning and end of each session.
Sig is offering a slight discount on these pistols for the kids who took the course, so I will probably either get her one that way, or the Amazon link above may be just as cheap. Since my daughter enjoys shooting it, I’d like to get her one to keep practicing with. The other pistol shooting she does is cowboy action which uses single action revolvers, so different manual of arms. I don’t have any 22 semi-auto pistols, so I’d like her have something like this CO2 gun to use to stay familiar with that style.

They are using comp-Tac holsters made for a p320.

Each day:
1) They go through the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of the pistol.
2) they discuss the four rules of fire arm safety
3) they discuss the practical/legal application of when you are allowed to defend yourself or others with a firearm
4) they discuss the key aspects of the responsibility of owning a firearm and being an advocate for the Second Amendment - confidence, competence, and accountability
5) they practice whatever skills they are focusing on that day, doing repeatable drills and getting help from the instructor. Like grip, stance, sighting, trigger, and drawing and re-holster
6) they have timed competition shooting at plates, to help them understand how the draw and footwork and accuracy and performing under pressure all work in competition, applying the things they have practiced.

That is so very cool. Nice work Pop. ;)
