Im all set on the kids front and am curious if anyone else has done it. If so, what to expect day of procedure-wise and afterwards. Also, what are some good questions to ask the doctor or things to consider....that type of thing

If you don’t want to post about it publicly, shoot a PM (not a blank) and let me know lol

Yeah i did it a year and a half ago. I went in on friday at 3 took some head phones and just laid back. Took about an hour total from checking in to checking out. Put a jock strap on and headed home, kept bags of frozen peas rotated out on top of the jock and ate advil for two days. Went back to to the normal grind on monday and have not had any issues since.

Had it done many moons ago, so it is likely even easier now. The procedure itself is quick. You won’t want to drive yourself home. At home you will want a bag that you can fill and refill with crushed ice. Sit on a pillow when you are icing it. Buy some jock straps as you will want some support since hanging free will hurt more. You will permanently hang lower, so if you are a boxers guy you might discover that isn’t for you anymore.
I found the pain to be less than I had been told to expect.
After about 30 days, they will want to examine a specimen to make sure you have no viable sperm in it. Do not skip this step, or if you do it is at your own peril.

I know a guy that did it and it got infected and he had to be cut open twice to fix it. Also yer balls are gonna swell up. Which may be good in your case

Had it done 2 years ago. I was fine the first day but on like the second or third day it looked like a softball. The swelling went down afterwards but for about the next two to three weeks you had to be real careful with your movements. Any unexpected touch will drop you to your knees. I had a couple situations where that happened. One time the I accidentally knocked the boys around zippering my pants and I almost fell over. Once that passes your fine though. Keep in mind that over the next 2-3 months your going to have to work the rest of the love juice out so you’re still potentially venomous until you do. Then you’ll drop a final specimen back off for lab results and that will verify you’re now shooting blanks.

This all you need..... cheap, no doctor's visit, and guaranteed effective. You'll have plenty of bands left over for your friends too.

He doesn’t even have to buy one. I have one he can borrow. Hell, I’ll put the band on for him

You will permanently hang lower
Or not. A urologist told me it isn’t uncommon the net-like ligaments that support yer nads tighten up over time after a fixin’.
When I went in 33 yrs ago I asked about bruising and swelling, he said that won’t happen, it’s usually caused by the Dr rushing and being rough.

Years ago, I was in a company meeting about a week after getting it done. Not so tender then and I moved in the seat to get comfortable. "POP" (not auditable but felt) a stitch or two broke. It hurt  and I cringed. One of my coworkers asked what was wrong. She was a really good looking girl, nice personality. I just said it was a muscle bruise...

Sound like there is a good story there....or mabe not so good.
They used mine as a training procedure. One guy from the VA and one female visitor down from Duke to help. She went first on one side and had it done in maybe a minute and left the room. The VA guy was a nervous nelly and couldn’t get his side figured out. It took maybe 10 minutes of him screwing up and getting told sternly what to do before I had to ask for more local. I was getting feeling back and started sweating profusely. They hit me with more local and started bringing me cold wet towels for my head. The doofus finally finished up and my agony was over. I hung out in post-op and when I was released I got to wait in line at the pharmacy to get my script...along with the other 40 people ahead of me in line. I drove myself the hour it takes to get home and popped a perc and enjoyed a slice of my birthday cake.

Co-pay was only $45 for the procedure and $15 for the meds, so there’s that.

Interesting! When I had it done, this was part of the pamphlet they gave you in the office. Maybe there is hope!

Nope, no need now. The wife took care of that while she was on the table with the last C-section. Snip, Snip done.

I held her hand.

Had it done on the wife’s orders after #2 son arrived. The procedure was executed mid day, and I drove back to the office. The guys were amused that I was walking like Yosemite Sam.

A guy I know got his wife pregnant a couple of years after the procedure. Be sure to let them check to be sure you are shooting blanks at the prescribed intervals afterwards.

Did you guys hear about that guy who got his vasectomy done at Sears? Now every time he gets a hard on, the garage door goes up.

AFTER mine was done, I found out That I could have paid an extra $300 to be out for the deed.
I would have spent it gladly. When he used the hook to pull out the tubes, I felt it pull all
the way to my neck.

I used to work with a guy who told his wife he couldn't get off work for their annual week at the beach with her family. I had already approved the time off for him. He was pretty sure she was running around and he took the week to get snipped and recover...... about 8 months later she popped up pregnant and he let her in on the secret.

I had it done a couple of years ago and if I it to do over again I probably wouldn’t do it. I think I created a thread about here but I’d have to go dig it up and that sucks on my phone.

Procedure wasn’t terrible but you can still feel them pulling on things. Did you know you balls are attached to your tonsils? The smell wasn’t pleasant when the burnt the ends.
I drove myself home which wasn’t fun but also not terrible. It meant I was 100% coherent while they were doing it.
Probably some of the most awkward small talk you’ll ever be involved in.

Here is why I wouldn’t do it again. Keep in mind that this was nearly 3 years ago that I had this done.
To this day, my nuts are more sensitive to everything. Anything that brushes them just right is painful...drying off after a shower, putting on pants, sitting down, the wife tickles them just right, crossing your legs...anything that hits them just right is instantly painful. I never had anything like that prior to that procedure.
They warn you that this is possible but I’ve never known anyone else to experience it.

You and the ole lady haven’t fooled around in a couple of days and you’re starting to get that aching feeling? Yeah, that’s 8000 times worse.
Oh, and let’s just say I’m not shooting for distance like I once was.

So yeah, I can wear my wife out now worry free but I’m not sure it was worth it.

If you want more details PM me.

careful what you hope for.
It took a couple decades, but during high excitement that bugger can rise over the pubic bone and ouch- gotta be careful.
If ur going in, ask these questions to the doc before the blade.

I had aching for a few days, stayed on the sofa watching movies and being served was nice.
There’s a reason the majority are performed during March madness.
No bruising or swelling. Walking up stairs was uncomfortable for a couple weeks.
It was great for our intimate life. Plenty of spontaneity, no awkward digging for protection, no pills screwing with her hormones.
I’d do it again.

I had a friend that got his done, and told me he knocked out a peace that night.
I said BS. He said ask his wife. So I did.. She just shook he head and said yep he did.

I had it done about 17 years ago. The dude “numbed” me up, and then started cutting. Turns out, though, I wasn’t numb. At all.

It was not a good experience.

Culminated in major swelling and bruising, and a few weeks of aches and pains while getting in and out of cars.

I am told that they do much less cutting now, and that the procedure is much easier on your body. All in all, I’d still do it again, for the freedom/spontaneity.

A little off track- they would not do it for anyone under 25 years old and without the spouse’s consent. Had to bring the wife in for approval and hear the lecture. But you do not have to have the husbands consent to have an abortion. It’s the woman’s body.

And yeah I had it done after four kids. One side had a bulging knot for more than a year that was a little pain but eventually went away. Even numb it felt odd when they tugged in tube to pull it out of the sack. 24 hours and I did normal stuff except for lifting heavy objects.

I had mine done in ‘83 at 23 years old and didn’t have to have my wife’s consent. And I had it done in NC.

Yes, hurt pretty bad the next day, when I went to make sure they were dead I passed a blood clot and about threw up...
