Headed up to the parkway and ended up at Linville Falls. Decided to head down to the plunge pool this time. Shot from the overlook.

And lucky for me I packed the fly rod. I am really loving this Tenkara rod. I have a shorter one on the way already.

3 trout and a horny head in about 75 yards of river and about 30 minutes fishing. Not bad at all. Turned a few more too.

Well... You wouldn't have gone hungry.

Looks beautiful there.

Linville Falls is a great place to go. Never been swimming in there, but waded around to cool off before. Always wanted to hike the Linville Gorge trail from start to finish. A couple buddies I know said it was the most rugged 10 miles they ever did

We used to do a lot of rock climbing on the other side of the gorge in years past.

Unfortunately I have not hiked as much of Linville as I would have liked. I did two overnights years ago. One from the top and one from Pinch in trail. Both trips were enough to let you know this was not a place to screw around with. It's incredibly rugged. I need to look at remedying that now.
