The New "What Did You Do to Prep Today" thread

My wife uses essential oils and makes natural products that contain them. I was skeptical at first, but some of the oils have worked really well for me and the kids.

My wife has filled the house with diffusers.....spent hundreds on these oils. If i believed all the labels, I wouldn't be balding, have a sinus infection, have a temper or need to vacuum.

May I ask what company manufactured them?
It really does matter.

Well the first 50 I just dug through all are by Doterra...She gets them all the time though so there's surely others. When I say she's into them, I mean hook, line, and sinker....her purse is even an essential oils holder/clutch thing..

Doterra is a shoot off of Young Living who IMO is the Bomb of EO's.

We use the Young Living EO's and I personally have had great results with them. I am also a very skeptical individual.

I know my old lady uses lavender on the young ones at bed time and you can really tell a difference when they don’t have it.

Cause we’re prepared and you’re gonna starve?

Surviving is so gay. Just die like a mans man.

“A mans man” is probably the gayest way ever to describe a manly man. Which even “manly man” is kinda gay too.

Are you trying to get this thread sent to the basement or something?
No not trying to get this in the basement, never heard of essential oils or their uses.
Medicinal purposes.

Almost every if not all medical conditions can be treated or cured with essential oils.
Thanks for the info, gonna do some reading on the subject.

bought batteries.

i saw several good reviews about Amazon Basic batteries.
i bought AA, AAA, C, D, and 9 volt with Prime.

Harbor Freight's button batteries are the best.
i buy coin batteries at the Gun Shows.
rechargeables have not been good to me.
i've bought 5 kinds and tried to keep them "topped off".
my opinion....unless you actually USE them everyday,
AND recharge them everyday, the increased cost of the
batteries/recharger and inconvenience isn't worth it (to me).

Tractor supply has a new arrival of fruit and trees in stock at the moment so last night we bought some apple, peach, pear, plum, and pecan trees to plant along with some blackberry and raspberry plants. I managed to get the apples and pear in the ground last night.

Academy is open in Matthews. They had MFT(Mission First Tactical) AR 30 rd. polymer mags for $7.99ea. . Going to the range tomorrow to see if the are as good as Magpuls !!!! Also found a 10 rd. Marlin Papoose mag for less than $10.00.

bought extra glasses (for eyes) online. 2 pair, $27 shipped.

Not today but last week I took a trip to see @thrillhill to drop off some goods, and pick up some goods for a couple members. Bought my first case of many cases of mountain house #10 cans. Gonna be buying more of those. Took home a pouch of lasagna when I left to sample. Ate it for dinner that night. Beats the hell out of an MRE any day.

Bought 2 more ammo cans. Sanded them down and painted as well. Will put the gaskets back in them tomorrow.

Hard to prep for my 3 year old son. He has milk, soy, egg, and peanut allergies. Any suggestions.

One of mine is allergic to cow dairy, so as far as 'milk' goes we put back some almond milk in the aseptic containers. Sounds like your big challenge is finding foods that are good to store but don't have any of those other ingredients.

Exactly.

Bringing this back from the dead. We’ve came across some interesting stuff lately from a place I buy stuff for resale.

Garlic Asiago seasoning and the sweet onion bacon season are different ends of the seasoning spectrum but both very very tasty. We got a dozen of each of these for $2 a piece. Of course we’re using some in the house, but to preserve it we’ve put them in bags that hold about half an ounce each which is right much, and vacuum seal them, then put those little bags in a big Mylar bag and seal it up.

Next we got a dozen of these 3lb containers of Spanish rice for $2 each. It’s really good. We cooked some with supper last night to try it.
Went to Costco yesterday and they have nice rotisserie chickens for $4.99. They’re still hot when we get them home. Take all that meat off the bones and mix it with this rice after we cook it and put it in the freeze dryer.

Also have been sealing instant coffee, which is freeze dried coffee, in Mylar bags. @Lil D found these ready made coffee straws on Amazon and they’re actually good. Takes three to make a good cup of coffee. But for taking with purposes or long term storage, they work pretty good

We’ve been slowly putting up canned goods when we go grocery shopping. I need to redo my ghb and get it back in the car. That will be done this weekend at the latest.
