just heard on rush show a snippet of Trump saying that Wayne from the NRA will need to come around to some sort of gun control.
Disappointed in Trump but not shocked at all.

I don’t know what he would gain by doing anything with the dems. He could cure cancer, bring world peace and solve world hunger and they would still hate him and call him every name in the book. Maybe he is thinking that by doing something on gun control he may win over some more voters. Not sure it will offset the ones he may lose in the process though.I’ve long said, if the left would embrace Trump they would get wins all over the board.

Gotta go through the Senate first, so emails and phone calls. He can't sign what he does not get.
He's played this game of chicken before though. But I don't like what I'm hearing, other than ensuring the NRA will be at the table. But that's not what it used to be either.
In the primary, despite reservations about him, I voted for Cruz. In the general, given the choice between Trump and Clinton, which really was the choice, not having Clinton took precedence. I don’t know what we could have done better given the cards we were dealt.”You Liberty minded people and your.....your “principles!”. Don't you get it?

I would oppose it just the same. Of those two, Trump at least tends to be more easily swayed by what’s popular, meaning there is a chance for him to do the right thing if people are vocal enough. Clinton wouldn’t provide such an opportunity.Would your response to gun control be any different if it was enacted by Clinton instead of Trump?

Yes. I do. My money has been on 2025, but I’m starting to think it could be sooner. Gun control could be one of a few possibilities that will set it off.Do you think this country is going to go sideways in your lifetime?

I also don’t think it would have been possible to prevent it through voting, or the political process.
Note, I was writing this as you commented to the same effect.
@SPM one of the things your writings have done is cause me to better understand the moral war. I am realizing the need to do everything possible to stop this sort of political BS. When the day comes that I am forced to pull that trigger, I will do so knowing it’s the last resort and will not hesitate to do so again and again as necessary or as long as I’m able.
@chiefjason how do you see this as Trump playing chicken with our rights?
He wants NRA on board so he can justify his actions, in my opinion. This isnt a good thing for us.
Not that I believe it but would it really surprise me if was true ? HELL NOYou know, back in 2016, there was a thought that Trump was a plant to make sure Hillary got elected.
What if that were true, but the election didn't go the way it was supposed to go, and now the powers that be are just making due?
Food for thought.
Man, this is so 64-D chess, it ain't even funny.
Trump tweeted this so it would inflame the masses to call out how incredibly contaminated these ERPO laws will be.
Now, when the public stands against them, Trump and the Senate can back off and save face.
