Anyone have any tricks for lubing bottleneck cases in quantity? So far the best method I've found is to just lay a bunch out on a big plate or cardboard and dust them with One Shot. It works but it's still slow. I'm open to suggestions since I'm trying to process a few thousand 223 cases.

Toss 'em in a bag/box/deep tray, spray a few good pumps, shake well, dump them out let the alcohol evaporate, size. I do my 223/556 this way. It's about as quick as it gets.

I use a tupperware- like container thats about 12” x 6”, put in a few handfuls, shoot it with whatever, shake it up, shoot again, shake, done. They can be in there 4 or 5 cases deep, no problem.

One shot is for pistol brass, IMO.
Using it on bottleneck is asking for stuck cases.

I use the Dillon lanolin spray. Its 10x the lube and cheap to make. However, it must be tumbled off, where one shot does not.

I lay cases out in a cookie sheet, spray, shake rattle and roll.

I use cooking spray. It’s cheap, and Ive always tumbled my rifle cases after prep anyway. Lay them out same way on a cookie sheet.

Who lubes pistol cases?

Non carbide resize die owners & folks who shoot Hot magnum straight wall.
I lube poistol when I do a marathon loading session. 700-1000 rds of 9mm sure goes smoother when lubed.
MUCH less fatigue.
Also, lube reduces the force needed on the down stroke, which let's me "feel" the other functions occurring.

I do like the Royal Purple case lube spray better than one-shot. Both work, it just takes less. I expect that it’s just lanolin and alcohol plus a touch of some scent.

Well, I ran out of lube last night so I’m open to suggestions there too.

Thanks for the tips guys.

Makes life so much better on a progressive. I skip it occasionally, but never for any real quantity. Couple thousand cases in a bucket, spray, lid, shake, easy pressing.

I don't bother removing lanolin lube from the things I bulk load.

Reactions: Me.
For quantity, I have a cardboard box top that will hold over 100 pieces of brass. I lay the brass down, spray them with Royal case lube, shake the box around a little and start sizing. I always wet tumble after sizing to get the lube off. I have yet to stick a case in a die.

If I am loading just 20 or 30 rounds, I use the Imperial sizing wax and apply it with my fingers. I just wipe it off when I am done.
