I wonder what would happen to this site? I imagine it would get a lot quieter when no one could talk about AR's, except maybe in the past tense.

Would we all just end up in Chads Basement?

There are many more guns than just AR-15. o_O

You must be thinking of ARF.com

The lever gun thread would get a lot more traffic.

They will ban new production, there will not be a turn in. It will be like the 90's assault ban.

I have enough lowers, I would just keep building uppers. It takes a lot to wear out a lower receiver.

He has never seen us fight over which Mayonnaise is better or maybe what topping goes on banana pudding. Epic.

they might as well ban marijuana and drinking and driving while they're at it. As for the compliance rate of 'ban' manufacturers, good luck tracking down every CNC machine in america. They'll be running full steam ahead of any 'ban'.

Serious question on this. So "IF" they did put a ban on new production, does this mean you will no longer be able to buy a stripped lower or will this mean all parts? I understand that a fully assembled AR would not be available, but what about the parts to build one?

it's easier than ever to let your congress critter know how you feel about those bills:

Background checks are already Federal law since 1994, with many improvements made in the last few years. However, criminals do not undergo background checks when obtaining an illegal firearm. Therefore this is just another infringement on law abiding citizens' rights, in direct conflict with the 2nd amendment to the US constitution and fundamental to a free country. Promote the enforcement of the the current 20,000+ gun laws on the books, and quit trying to punish the law abiding for the acts of criminals and mentally instable attackers who have slipped thru the hands of law enforcement already."

Criminals do not submit to these types of 'waiting periods' when obtaining an illegal gun, yet a law abiding citizen who may need a gun to protect against a domestic abuser or other immediate threat will have to wait to exercise a constitutional right? This bill underscored the idiocy of the current mental of gun control proponents: punish the law abiding while turning a blind eye to the real source of gun crime: CRIMINALS DO NOT OBEY LAWS, GET BACKGROUND CHECKS, OR WAIT FOR A GUN - WHY SHOULD I? Please oppose this infringement upon one of our most basic human rights: the right to defend against those who would deprive us of our pursuit of life, happiness, and freedom.
