State of emergency question

90% of LEO and federal LEO will follow orders. They already have explicit orders on when and how they can get around silly things like Warrants... If they want to kick in your door, they will.

Ask me how I know. I've kicked in a few doors...

I see those III% stickers on pickup trucks. But 90% of those dudes are no longer on active duty.

If stuff hits the fan, the majority of LEO and military will comply and come to take you out.

Just wait and see.

Our military is no different than any before it They will follow orders. How many times have you seen just local LEO’s follow orders that they know were moral wrong. A 18 yr old soldier will 100% follow the order they are giving. Our only hope would be the guys that been in a while and realized the BS they were feed in Basic.

"Our boys in blue would never act like that!"

They must be more of those pesky Russians then.

Boston. Home of the American Revolution. And the massacre.

The thing that troubles me most about that is the masks. When law enforcement wear masks they're not protectors. They're government thugs ashamed to show their faces.

What worries me most is the de facto suspension of the rule of law and the Constitution while the state's agents conducted warrantless searches throughout an entire city -- and of course the populace complied without incident because "mein Heimatschutz!"

I wonder if they're magic masks like Zorro or the Lone Ranger? Half those guys look like they are ready for retirement age. Wonder how that LEO recruitment is going in those NorthEast towns that enacted gun control mostly against the will of the people.....

Right but one sort of begets the other. The masks are the fig leaf they use to spare their blushes, so to speak. If they have the decency to have any.

It's a lot easier to be corrupt when the people you are supposed to protect and serve can't see your face.

I started to reply something snarky about Boston PD, but then I remembered that they were typically pretty fair in their treatment of servicemen at one time. So I won't make any blanket statements, even though policing in general has changed dramatically since last I worked for a local PD, and even more so since I last worked for Uncle Sam. :)

*Hurricane hits and hundreds of people drown in their homes and starve* "See, the government cant help you! Help yourself!"
*Hurricane hits and hundreds of people are saved from their homes* "See, the government just wants to invade your space and oppress you!"

Just wait til ERPO laws become nationwide. Those guys will need to dress like that every day, wear masks, and drive the bearcat. And that's on their days off.

NOLA was effed up way before Katrina and the shit-show that ensued. All that storm did was magnify the problems.

Yes. Everyone who was displaced just took their societal dysfunction to wherever it was they landed.....
Likewise Houston after Irma. What's Ironic is that many displaced by Katrina landed in Houston. Maybe final destination type goings-on is happening lol.

My sister lived in Houston (well, just a few miles north in The Woodlands); once upon a time it was a nice city. I almost took a job there; a buddy of mine did. He said after the migrations from displacement there was a noticeable/statistically significant uptick in all sorts of crime and shenanigans.

True. I move out in 2000 and have people I talk to that still live there (South, West and in the Woodlands). They all say the crime doubled.

Some are not kids, not that it matters
What does a collection of deluded kids have to do with the nature of policing?
