He said the other vehicle “scooped under”. Don’t know what it was but wonder if it was a low car that actually hit the drive shaft as it nosed under the car and spun it?
I get that. The drive shaft busted due to impact, still leaves enough to pole vault the vehicles rear airbound. The damage to the right rear quarter panel, height wise, looks like it impacted the gound as it would in a end over end flip
Im pretty sure it will buff right out though

Wow, so u basically had a wedge shoved under the center at 40 mph. Ripped the rear of your rig off and up as it pivoted off the impact and momentum. To crush the front of the cab like that it must have rolled across the nose then landed. Amazing.
Incredible the apillars on the Corolla didnt shear and kill the other guy.
So awesome that only soreness is the result. Aren't you a pretty big/tall dude too? That could have easily been super horrible

Wow. Glad you're OK. Had something similar, but not do dramatic happen a few years ago. A full sized pickup was ahead of me in the left lane preparing to turn into a lot. A RAV4 was in the lot preparing to exit. As I was passing I notice out of the corner of my eye that the RAV4 is accelerating hard out of the lot and I'm thinking WTF? I floor it, hoping to get past the impact. No such luck. Witnesses say she basically drive under the rear of the pickup, lifting it enough to see the undercarriage. Then she struck me, just behind the driver door and spun me 180*, totalling my car. She then struck a tree on the far side of the road, which stopped her.
