Hello everyone,
Thank you for letting me into the club. I am a father of 2 (5yo & 7yo) and my 7yo has taken an interest into shooting. She got a Cricket rifle for Christmas and yes it's hot pink. She has really enjoyed it and I am continually on the look out to spend our money on the kids and new to me toys, if the budget allows. : )
I honestly would like to find new ways to keep my kiddos interested in this sport. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the CFF Family!!

Kids love machine guns. :D

I’d just offer up something other than paper targets all the time. Work on the basics, but also add something that’s fun. I have all kinds of options my 12yo could choose to shoot...but he likes to take the suppressed 22LR bolt guns and do things like shoot at empty shotshell hulls at 50 yards.

Greetings and welcome to CFF. Happy to have you with us.

My 8 year old LOVES shooting steel with his suppressed 22 pistol. Something about that sound and immediate feedback that keeps him interested and eager for more!

Oh yeah...a box of bright orange clays is also fairly cheap entertainment with immediate feedback of a successful shot.

I think you'd better come inside! Welcome.

Welcome to CFF enjoy the forum

Welcome!
The targets that held my kid’s attention; small water balloons with flour in them (poof! on impact), saltine/Ritz crackers, eggs, dancing tin cans

Hello from Scotland County!
This is a great place for info on a lot of stuff.

Welcome, @VinegarBased , we're happy to have you with us.
Good for you for keeping the young lady interested in shooting. Targets that move, like a shooting tree or aluminum cans, or targets that make noise like steel, will keep her interested. If you come to the meet and greet, I'll give you a brick of 22LR to keep her busy.

Welcome and as others have said anything that gives immediate feedback. Whether it rings, breaks, hopes, falls down or blows up they stay engaged. Tell them to punch holes in paper all day and they lose interest fast and of course the phone comes out.

Welcome and thanks for joining up with us here. I'm hoping you'll find this to be the very best internet hangout ever.

We're SO much more than a firearms forum !

Is there a meet up around Durham/North Durham?

Welcome. Buy suppressors for them to use.
