My daughter is a bit over a year old and even at that age it’s a big difference from boys. But this one, good god. Earlier this week we thought she was choking to the point she went limp, she came out of it and we never thought more of it. Last night she was mad about something and it happened again. I thought she may be having seizures so my wife took her to the doctor. Turns out when she’s mad she’ll hold her breath until the point she passes out. Dr. said this is very common in children, first I’ve ever heard of it. All I know is she damn near gave me a heart attack twice.

My dad raised three boys...when we had our first daughter he took care of her for the first year or so as our daycare.

He helped me observe something:

When boys are born they go through stages:

Infants
Toddlers
Pre-k
Youth
Young boys
Young men
Men

Women follow a different path:

Infants
Women

They don’t go through normal stages. They are immediately women with all of the attitude, drama, and insanity that follows. At 6 months my daughter learned guilt tripping, passive aggressiveness, “whoa is me”...

When she starts to hold her breath just pome her in the stomach and she’ll pop like a balloon. Or blast a big fart and make her laugh.

Toss her in with the boys. She’ll snap out of it

I stared my little girl in the eyes while she held her breath like that. I never cracked a smile and we never reacted to it...you know, after the first couple times and we figured out what was going on.
Anyway, it only took about three times of staring her in her eyes while she blacked for her to figure out daddy didnt give a rip.
It stopped very soon after.
That said, the hardest part was gettin momma on board with what I was doin...

16? Hell that teen crap starts at 13 or was it 4?
I have 2 daughters and 2 Female G-kids, so plenty of experience.

I had a granddaughter did that shit when she was little. Last I knew the slut ran off with an criminal illegal from Mexico.

Many years ago, when my oldest daughter was a teenager, I was talking to a female co-worker in another state. We were waiting for something to process and our conversation turned to family. I mentioned that I had a 14yr old teenage girl at home. She paused and said, "I'm sorry." ;)

A friend of mine has six kids. The first 5 are boys are ages from like 11 to 3. This past winter a girl was added to the mix. I told him I can't wait to see how this unfolds. He told me just the other day the boys already might be in trouble, but he is seeing to it she just becomes part of the pile.

My wife’s niece was doing that it when I first met the kiddo (4 or 5).

They were visiting and she was hanging out with me in the garage. Got mad about whatever a 4yo girl gets mad about and started that bs.

I laughed at her then flicked her on the forehead (with child appropriate force obviously lol).

She got the “saucer eyes” then started crying. I told her if she wants to hang out with uncle Trevillian in the shop. There would be none of those games or she can’t hang out any more.

She is now my shop buddy when they visit.

Later I found out that was her go to tactic with her momma and other family. But magically she quit that after her first visit with us for some reason lol.

You aren’t talking about me are you? I’ve got 5 boys and the girl is the baby.

I might be. Are you CB.

Mine didn't do that. But my oldest enjoyed throwing herself head first off of your shoulder. At least twice we were both on the ground before I got control of her.
