Norinco SKS surprised me today

Took the sks to the 1000 yard range today to have fun with. Closest target was at 477. Thought what the hell, let’s see what she’ll do. Put the rear sight on 4 and with Tula, smacked it first shot. Lucky but awesome. With irons too. Hit it 4 out of 10 times. All misses were all over the plate. Close enough to keep someone’s head down for sure. Kinda enjoyed this more than an AR lol

I would say bull shit but I seen it with my own two eyes. Very fun rifle to shoot I hit it once but danced all around the plate myself.
 
I've argued before that the SKS isn't given as much credit as it should. The ones I have shot have all been very accurate, extremely reliable, and built like tanks. While loading with stripper clips, or one at a time, is slow, there some value to not having to tote around spare magazines or making sure magazines work properly. Would make an excellent SHTF tool.
 
that rifle killed alot of Americans in Vietnam used as a 'sniper' rifle, and my Norinco I had in the 90s shot lights out at distance so no surprise here.
