Our new house near Charlotte will be finished Dec 2nd and we’ll be relocating from Oklahoma. My wife and I both enjoy shooting paper with our pistols as well as sporting clays together with our shotguns. Something we picked up the last few years to do together. I’ll miss the family farm as ‘free’ space to shoot at whatever distance I wanted…just never got her interested in my Creedmoor.
We will be looking for a reasonably priced place to visit for handguns now and then near Indian Trail and likely a place to practice missing clays more than not. Not sure we go enough to validate a membership. It sounds like we have to start over on our Carry Permits in the new state as well and find classes and all. Seems redundant.
A related hobby she seems to have zero interest in is reloading. I’ve found I enjoy the details.

Short version: Older people relatively new to shooting who practice it mostly just to do it together.

Welcome and thanks for joining up with us here. I'm hoping you'll find this to be the very best internet hangout ever. Please reach out to others and invite them to join up with us also.

We're SO MUCH MORE than a firearms forum !

Welcome to CFF and the Carolina's.

Welcome!
When we first started, I called us a dive bar- kind of rough but it was a good place if you knew what you were getting into.

I have changed it to a borderland bar- From opening till 4, you got your hard core bar flies- not to rough, don't poke the bear and your good. 4- to 9 is the normal folks- nice, white bread, 2 kids and a soccer mom. 9-11 is the rough but got to get to a real job in the a.m.

After 11... the knives, coke and perverts come out!! Thick skins, whisky breath, and dirty photos- of your mom if you want them! LOL

Kind of kidding but not. We got some rough folks, some old grouchy folks (HI!) , some just Aholes, and a lot of everything else!

Welcome aboard. Might be a bit of a drive but my club does sporting clays twice a month. First and third Saturday. $20 for 50 birds for non members. 10 stations. Catawba Valley Wildlife club in Vale, NC.

Thank you all very kindly. OKShooters used to meet up now and then at a local establishment for food and talk before spending an hour or so at a local indoor range. Not so much this time of year with other commitments but we look forward to meeting a few of you down the road once we settle in.
