Sportsman's Warehouse

F&S tended to be pricey anyway.
Firearms were all much more expensive than LGS. Add the Dick's dick move if banning the sale of standard magazines, D set up F&S to fail.
Hopefully they didn't try to stick their conditions on firearms into the lease.

I stopped by today, the firearms prices, were close to list. I looked at Stoeger M3K, they were selling it for $659.

Used to shop a Sportsman's Warehouse in Lexington KY when I lived there and I liked it.

Fishing and shooting supplies was their strongpoints.

There's one in Columbia, SC around the corner from PSA. I've been a few times and liked it. I wish there was one in Raleigh!

I went today 10-15 mins after opening and was pleasantly surprised to get the $20 gift card for being one of the first 300. I think they are doing it tomorrow as well. A lot of nice stuff there though I didn't see many sales outside of field and stream products. Are they just a rebranded field and stream?

The guy around fishing was extremely helpful.

The Asheville location just opened.

Just came out of there. Nothing different than F&S. Same merchandise, F&S stuff everywhere for 10% off. Guess they bought their entire inventory. Went in expecting all this reloading stuff....nada. Same poor selection F&S had. Ammo prices look the same, etc. There were signs up saying on Nov 12 they are redoing the firearm section. Maybe it will be better after that.

Greensboro?

Academy Sports is just down the street. That probably has at least a little to do with F&S going away. The Dicks is still there too, but they cater to folks who want to wear pretty Under Armour and North Face clothing.

I'm hoping that it will change over time as the sell off the F&S inventory. The one in Wilmington is completely different.

My bud's son put in an app for a job there.

I called over there a couple weeks ago inquiring about reloading supplies. The customer service dude said they had a limited amount...bout the same as what they had when they were F&S, but they were expecting a lot more within the coming weeks.

I’d bet by the 29th, they’ll be fully stocked. It’s probably there already, just hasn’t been put out yet. I’d imagine there are trailers full-o-stuff sitting behind the store right now.

Been a few months since I've been in there. Any different yet or still just F&S with a different name?
I was in there a few weeks ago for just a few minutes - it looked like F&S to me. And, actually, had F&S stuff still for sale on the racks

That's disappointing. Had high hopes for the place the way people were talking about the other locations. Tons of reloading supplies, etc. They had the same limited selection that F&S had and other than a different name, nothing was different. Thought maybe they just needed a few weeks to set the store up their way. Doesn't sound like it.

I was in the Greensboro store 3 weeks ago and was impressed with the selection for a "big box store." Lots of inventory and mostly fair prices. Even had cans of ammo that came from Dick's.

While Academy was sold out, they had pallets of the 'popular' stuff sitting.
Not terrible pricing, but I decided not to buy that day.

I've been in two of their stores - St. George, Utah and Fairbanks, Alaska.

Great selection, especially for reloading supplies, but.... a bit on the pricey side.

I would love to have a sportsmans warehouse, academy, cabelas or any of them that was not a 3 hour drive here in the northeastern corner of NC

I suspect Asheville.
That’s exactly what happened! I had sworn off F&S and wouldn’t go near their store. We were in Asheville and I noticed the signs had changed so I wondered in. So much difference!
