I took some recommendations and reviews from my thread on threading my Ruger 77/22 rifle barrel and called around. Most smiths were in the 6-8 week lead time range and over $150.

Called Rob at Clayton Guns and he told me to mail or bring in the barrel. I brought it down since I was in the area anyway (hour drive for me) and dropped it off. I went with the 11* target crown and standard rimfire threads. I had him make a custom invisible thread protector which I love. He completed this in less than two days and it was less than others in the area. Results are fantastic and I highly recommend this place for threading or other work.

Beautiful blend job on the thread protector. Great work

Another thumbs up for Clayton Guns. They do all my NFA engraving and I just had them SBR up a 13” mini-14 factory folder for me. Came out great and it was done quickly.

Sounds good, may need to pay them a visit. Full machine shop? Wonder if they know Smith revolvers.

Yer computer is broken, I don't see any pics.

Hah here it is. I've got a naked dead air nomad in jail which I'm going to throw on there to complete the stainless steel look. Took me a while to find the nickel plated magazine as well.

Just a lathe. He bought a older cnc milling machine he was wanting me to help him get up and running and write a post processor for.
