Interesting morning in Benson today at JARS fest. There was about half the sellers that are usually there (weather!) but an army of shoppers... one of the busiest JARS fests I can recall.

I made it out of there fairly cheap, but there were some good deals around!

What is a Jarsfest?
I googled and found Jawsfest...

Hamfest is a once a year fundraiser for the radio club that sponsors it, the admission and dealer table sales fund the club expenses such as power and phone bills for club repeaters.
Some clubs have to pay for tower space for their radios and antenna.
WRAL is generous and hosts several club repeaters on their towers at no cost to the clubs.

Yeah, there were some deals... I walked away from most of them as even if I get reincarnated several times, I've got more radios to restore than time and space. There was no big dealers there as usual, but there was a lot of stuff changing hands as there was more buyers than sellers.

Saw a lot of old friends, made some new ones, and came home with a couple bargains. I'll call that a win!

I was hoping to unload some stuff at JARSfest this year, but I haven't had time to go through and get it ready. Oh well - RARSfest in the spring!

I feel your pain, it's amazing how fast things tend to pile up once you enter this hobby.

Especially if you actively collect Boatanchors for 25 yrs. Oy vey!

There's a very fine line between fascination and obsession.
