I’m Trying To Unload The G27 Gen 4 and never dealt or sold any type of fire arm to a pawn shop. Any News Or Advice on how or what’s the best place or price to sell it at?

I tried to sell one rifle one time to a pawn shop. They offered me 60% of the blue book value.

A pawn shop here had a nice Gen 4 G27 on Saturday. They had it priced at $399 and I'm certain they would take $350. They have less than $200 in it. A local FTF sale would be much better for you.

You have to remember that the entire premise of their business is buy low, sell high!

They exist to make money off your difficult times. That is why many pawn shops deal in so much stolen property.

An FTF sale from here will be profit to you.

If you deal with a pawn shop at all, see if they will take it on consignment. You tell them how much you have to have and they whatever over to get their money.

But don't be surprised when you see your gun on the shelf costing more than the new one next to it.

Also you have to file paperwork to take it back if it doesn't sell.

This^^^^

It will cost you money to not sell it. Plus I have gotten a couple of good deals at pawn shops. What do you think the seller got since the pawn shop had to make money to sell it?

There are good pawn shops and bad ones. I happen to work at a good one. If it's in good condition we'd be happy to pay 325 with all the mags and would sell it for around 400.

Quick & easy. We record your driver's license and contact info. The make, model and serial number of the firearm and put cash in your hand along with a bill of sale.

Everything we buy is held for 7 days and info sent to the police dept to ensure it hasn't been reported stolen.

I had a rifle shipped to local pawn shop in Knightdale several years ago, there was also a Jennings J25 in the package. I did not want it, but the shop did not want it for even $10.00
I initially had a issue with it. Rob@claytonguns found some pin was out of spec, it actually runs good since it was fixed.

I don't take anything to a pawn shop unless it has an undetectable flaw in it's function.

Yeah, I took a Synthesizer to one back in the 80's. I had started playing with the pots to try and get different sounds out of it. I got a lot of crap out of it except a few sounds were ok. They gave me a great deal on it. suckas lol.

Good luck,,Go to a pawn shop and then list it here for 50 bucks more than they offer.
Sell the mags separately

Also don’t make up laws or make it harder for legal people to buy. There’s a rifle on here I want but the guy wants to go through a FFL. I know it’s his gun and rules but that turned a few potential buyers on here away.
Yes I’m legal and even have a CHP, just don’t like doing more than the law states.

That's them. Good "gun folk" there.

There are good Pawn Shops and Bad ones just like Good Gun Shops and Bad Ones. One of my best friends owns several Pawn Shops and a Gun Shop. And while I'm sure he's bought his share of TV's and Lawnmowers for pennies on the dollar, he pays way more than most for good quality guns. He had a very good gun business and if its something that will sell pretty quick, he does not mind paying top wholesale for it. Just like any good business man, stuff that will sit a while, he is going to pay less for.

There was a time when there was no law requiring school buses to stop at RR Tracks or motorist to Stop while school buses load ~ unload, of which Many still do Not stop.

For anyone with a permission slip going through a FFL is no big deal.

In general, you should expect somewhere in the vicinity of 50% of the fair market value of the gun, whatever that is. Give or take, of course.

If you've got the time, just sell it yourself.

So your advocating for all gun sells go through a FFL for safety reason.

My point is going through a FFL is a type of registry.

It's about about me, I'm not selling the firearm.
It's how the Seller wants to sell it, his conditions.

You and I have talked before and I believe you are a normal person.

However why is it that every damn time the ( or vast majority ), hum , No Holds Bar Free Men want to demonize those that have conditions they don't like or care for?
Don't answer that, seriously.
Just Buy & Sell in Davidson County on Tuesdays. ( Open Secret )

For example I don't recall hearing or reading about a seller complaining that they have a difficult time selling their property because they want to go through a FFL or require a permission slip.

A type of registry?
Yah, I suppose it is if the info is collected from a FFL.
It has been collected before, illegally.

It's also been discussed here about Who(?) knows who has or buys What?

For >Anyone< that Thinks or Believes buying a firearm on this forum ( even through PM channels ) or any forum gives them a "Secret Private" purchase with "No Paper Trail(?)" is sadly mistaken, because if needed Big Bro will take an hour or so and Nail the Info, period.

Not including you Majicmike, I would put these types in the same category of having knowledge of The Biden's China deal and still wanting Uncle Joe to be POTUS.

That’s the money quote right there.

I know that other forums have had to honor requests for user information, and I know one forum user who got a visit from the ATF because they were concerned he was acting as an illegal dealer...
It's not hard for the gov to track you down. I just had somebody with a gov job tell me he's had to be involved in that sort of thing.

reminds me of the time a friend of mine in early 90s went to national jewelry and pawn in durham to buy a large stereo system for 600$(normally well over 1000$)on layaway. the thing was massive and it took him two trips to get it home. once home he turned it on it blew out in about 30 mins of use..we took it apart and found that a piece of wiring had been cut and they had used a piece of chewing gum foil, wrigley if i remember correctly, to splice the wire back together which im assuming allowed the stereo to turn on long enough for testing so that the pawn shop would buy it. we put a new piece of foil where the old one burned out at and took it back.... ive never gone to a pawn shop since
