Debating what to build. I’ve thought about just getting her a bolt .22 rifle.Congratulations Mom & Dad, you too, Granpappy! And welcome, Miss Finley!
You started her build yet?
Start her off with a semi. Get her used to sight alignment & trigger control, then learn her to work a bolt once her li'l fingers get some motor skills!Debating what to build. I’ve thought about just getting her a bolt .22 rifle.
I sure she’s going to shoot whatever is in Granddad’s safe!Start her off with a semi. Get her used to sight alignment & trigger control, then learn her to work a bolt once her li'l fingers get some motor skills!

I’m a huge CZ .22 rifle fan. That was my thoughts as well. I’ve got several 455, one in. Varmint stock and one in a Boyd’s Tacticool stock . One in walnut. She’ll love whatever.Precious! She’s got some big bright eyes ... and major head of hair.
If I were buying a kid rifle I’d be looking hard at the new offering from CZ ... the 457 Scout. A platform you can grow with ... nice iron sights and easy to upgrade stock, barrel or go from single shot to mag fed not mention already threaded from a can! Just my 2¢ ...
I ended up with a CZ 455 in .22 wmr. I really dug the stock and it was the last of those stock, CZ isn’t making them anymore. I may keep this one for me and give her my Granddad’s old Winchester octagon barrel pump.Precious! She’s got some big bright eyes ... and major head of hair.

I love the Mannlicher stocks, beautiful wood with old world Austrian style. Years back I had a shot at a vintage Butter Knife 7x57 Mauser with a double set trigger in a Mannlicher stock but I was on business and it’s price matched its beauty ... I still regret not buying it.View attachment 169300

Buy another barrel for it ... I think the Lux barrels are the same as the Mannlicher ... $150 ... http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/00206_Cz-455-Lux-Barrel-Set-22lr-Blued or style/caliber. It’s an easy swap that’s basically take the action out of the stock and 2 screws.I really didn’t want a .22 WMR but, you get what they got so whatever. I’ve got plenty of.22 mag in the ammo locker anyway.
