Help me settle a debate here. I've never eaten Skittles or Fruit Roll Ups. Somebody I know seems to think that makes me downright un-American, but I just think faux-fruit flavoring is an abomination.

I think it depends on your age.
Im not a skittles fan, so, while Ive tried them, I dont buy them/eat them now.
Now fruit roll ups - they were something marketed towards kids when I was a kid and so I had some. I liked them way more than skittles, but, hell, Ive not had one in at least 20 years now and sort of forgot they existed.

I think youre good, man.

Now, if you told me you'd never had Big League Chew, the bubble gum that comes shredded and a pouch much like chewing tobacco, then I'd say you were un-American...

This is about Trayvon, isn't it?

He dead.

I think I'm a year or two older than you.

I just never liked fake fruit flavoring as a kid. I remember Gushers too, and some kid giving me one in middle school, and I proceeded to vomit everywhere when the thing broke open and was full of some fetid juice. I've never eaten a gummy bear either. Something about that texture.... kill me now.

No problems with Big League Chew or sharpening a Push Pop into a deadly weapon here.

PUSH POPS I forgot about those!
Man, I sort of miss the candy from my youth.
And, while the flavor lasted about three seconds, I enjoyed fruit by the foot gun

Yes, Trayvon is dead and so back in the news.

On fruit rollups, they aren't all artificial. You can make them in a food dehydrator or oven. All natural. And yes, tasty.

Haven't eaten a skittle since I was a kid and even then I didn't care for them. I have no idea what a fruit roll up is.

I think all the fake stuff and preservatives we had in my day have kept me looking as great as I do at my age! LoL.

Skittles?! Dang counterfit M&M's, they! The source of many youthful disappointments when grabbing handfuls of anticipated chocolatey goodness from an unguarded candy bowl.

Fruit roll-ups = dried latex paint.

Oh man I love skittles and fruit roll-ups. Sour skittles, tropical skittles, berry skittles, all them skittles.

And fruit roll-ups...just tear them off the sheet and ball up into a rock. That’s the way to eat them.

I find it odd, but only because these items are often used as decoration on other food. My wife cuts fruit roll-ups into ribbons and makes bows on the corn flake wreaths.

My friend mixes Skittles and M&Ms just to watch the horror.

I only had a couple of cravings when I was pregnant with my son, but fruit roll-ups were one of them. Previous to this, I had not had a fruit roll-up since I was a kid. That craving really came from out of the blue.
