Your screen name?

And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Los Campesinos. Men Women and Children. Jimmy Eat World (not so indie, but good nonetheless).

There's more, but I've seen those bands many many times live.

one thing that I asked for, and got, for Christmas was a JEW record, Bleed American.
They've been a solid band for about two decades or so now

Totally unoriginal here. I used to use "Rastus" as a screen name on other forums (was a chocolate lab I used to own) till someone got butthurt over it. When the old forum came along and I wanted to join, I had no clue for a name and had just had a M700 customized and I wanted to sound like a gun guy:) So I have just let it carry over.

I have always restored the old flywheel "hit and miss" gas engines. I also have and extensive collection of antique chainsaws that I display at shows (40's and 50's).
Between that and old cars and tractors, my wife always said if it has an engine I'm in love with it.

One of my buddies in grad school started calling me "Stobie" as a play on my last name; sometimes he called me "Stobie-Wan Kenobi". Everybody at school started calling me Stobie then, some people still do.

I'm a member of 3 or 4 forums, mostly motorcycle related, and I'm Stobie on all of them.

Smithnwesley cause when my girl was little she would tell everybody she got a new smith and wesley for xmas.

And so i can stay anonymous cause if liberals at work saw me posting here with the rest of you gun nuts, id probably get fired.

I wanted something different from the name I generally use on other boards. Pack72 reflects where I went to school and when I graduated. (Note: persistent rumors to the contrary notwithstanding, it has nothing to do with Cub Scouts. All those charges were dropped.)

punk rock.

Hybrid Moments is a song by Hot Water Music
Moments Pass is a song by Misfits

As I was registering for some site years ago they played in that order on my itunes and I thought it was neat, so I went with it
Two great bands, two great songs.
One lovable member - me.

I knew a guy who played EVE Online with the name "Hybrid Moments Pass" I think...or it had something to do with him. You saying this brought that memory up somehow.

As far as my name...When I registered years and years ago I was just NatSmith77 because I didn't really think I would be around long. But, I was...then after a while we were having a "What do you think members look like based on how they post" thread, and someone mentioned that I reminded them of Booger from Revenge of the Nerds or something. So when I logged off, the mods changed it, and I owned it because BOOGER is awesome.

At the old forum i was shootn4fun which part of my email address.but it was just too much to type for some people when they referred to me in a post, so the used shoot for or some other abbreviation.
So when we moved here I shortened it to s4f, my own abbreviation.

When I got hired at the city back in 2001 the guys in my rookie class called me Z Bizzle because my first two initials are ZB and snoop dogg was izzling everything back then and 911 because I’m a fireman and it seemed logical.

Millie is the name my birth mother gave me, since her sister is Millie.

I never got to meet my mom as an adult, but I always knew I was Millie because my adopted mom told me years ago, and I put this info on my application to get my file opened (so I could let my relatives know I had been Dx with cancer), and maybe it helped them find me among all the records.

By the time I sent in the forms and was contacted, my birth mother had been dead 2 years, and my birth father had died a month before.....but I have 2 sisters and 4 brothers from the two of them, so not too sad a story.

But a cautionary tale for us all: don't wait to do stuff you want/need to do! If I hadn't held on to those papers as long as I did, I'd have probably met my parents.

So....Millie is actually my name!

I changed from WNC Seabee a while back. I loved my time in the Seabees, best job I ever had, but my time in was very low key and relatively uneventful...so I have always been uncomfortable claiming any type of 'veteran' status.

And...I suck with names. Anyone that's met me more than once can probably attest that I don't remember names worth a damn, so I figured if I just use my own name I won't forget it.

My wife did something similar. Knew she was adopted, but it was after her adopted father and mother had passed that she found half of her biological family. The other half... well... she was the product of an affair, and they never knew anything. Both her bio parents are long deceased. One of her half brothers is deceased. She has met her half brother and her 2 half sisters, all considerably older. She was the baby. We live in the foothills, and they are all from Wilmington. Her youngest sister is actually at our house for Christmas. I, on the other hand, didn't know my father was not my bio father until I was in my 20s. He married my mother when she was pregnant, and passed away when I was 13. On his death bed, he made my mother swear to never tell me. I have found my bio father, know his address, phone number, and I am friends with my half sister on FB... but they know nothing. He is now 77, and I don't want to disrupt his life. When he was told my mother was pregnant, told her to "take care of it". They have no clue I exist. Sometimes I think about contacting him, but it's a fleeting thought. I have written at least 4 letters over the last 30 years, but none have ever made it to USPS. I hate it for my daughter (only child, as I was), as i have no relationship with ANY of my family, and in turn, she only has my wife's family, but i also do not want to destroy someone else's life.

My Stepdad gave me the nickname Miraculous back about 1980
Because of how I could skirt danger, death and trouble with the law.

Come on man !
You can’t go blurting out something like that and not show pictures....
I demand a whole thread of such pictures.

:)

I guess that if no one can guess my intentions then we need to have a talk.
Funny thing is, on every forum I join, it is available.
I've been surfing the net since the time Al Gore invented it.
If you see this name anywhere else, it is me. Only one I've ever seen.
Unusual to me since it is not an unusual name.
It really bugs my wife that whenever we get a new internet server and I create my name, it's there.
Her first choice is never available yet it seems like hers is harder to come up with.
Works for me!

I have 2 that I use. KnotRight came from when I was looking for a Bay Boat and found one in Cutter's Bay, FL on E-bay. Told the guy I would be down there at lunch the next day with cash. Got a friends trailer, left Savannah @ 2:00 AM was at his place around lunch, put the boat in the water to test drive (5 minutes) and was back in Savannah around 11:00 PM the day I left. People told me I was KnotRight. That is the name on the Mako.

The other name is Runnin Late. That is the name I use on a couple other forums. That handle came from when I would leave the marina to fish offshore and my float plan said that I would be back around 3:30. The snapper banks are 30ish miles offshore (almost a 3 hour ride on a good day). I would call them at 3:00 and asked them to call my wife and tell her that I am running late. After the 3 or 4 VHF call from the banks, the marina said, "I know you are running late" and they will call my wife. That is the name on my Sea Pro.

Attempted to come up with a gunly handle ~15 years ago. I successfully came up with a cheesy one. Same name on a few forums, might be vapor/vapour or mist.
Currently taking suggestions.

My screen name comes from being into all mountain sports and teaching rock climbing as a younger man.

@NKD ......the evolution of yours is funny to me.
I don't get it?

I have/had many many screen names; I really enjoy making them up. When I came on here I used one of my favorites - "LiberTarHeel" - but @Millie complained that it was too much to type, so I changed it to my initials ... and I even left out the middle one in deference to @Millie :D
Sorry, dude, I just should have called you Lib in chat, or something similar. I'm a horrible typer, and lazy too!

No problem, M. :D
Everybody at work called me JT anyway.
Which is odd because everybody when I was a kid called me JC.
And - without prompting - that was my milspec name too, because there were three Taylors in my boot camp company, so we were Taylor, JC/Taylor, RA/ and Taylor, RS
