Looking to buy some 1oz silver bars every now and then for my son to have. I’m looking for a place in the triad to buy. Where’s everyone buy their silver bars at? Thanks!

You’re gonna pay spot+ so be aware before of the spot before you walk in so you know to spot. The “plus” on 1oz bars will be more than on the 5oz or 10oz due to what they’ll call fabrication cost or such. It can run from maybe as low 3% but average is going to be 5-7% and can run higher for fancy names and such.

Personally I like JM Bullion. They are reputable and have free shipping over $99. They offer varying prices depending on how you pay ... less overhead methods get a discount while credit cards fees are passed on to the buyer. I doubt you’ll get a better price locally. It will take about a week for everything to clear and then to ship but the savings to me is worth it ... and you must sign for the shipment.

Because it's important. It takes a lot of coordination to be home when a package arrives you have to sign for.

Maybe didn't ask the question correctly.

Why does he say one must sign for the shipment? I've ordered from them twice in the last two weeks and didn't need to sign for either shipment. Once was paid for with PayPal and the other with a CC.

Just called them. They’re selling 1 oz bars for spot plus $2 doesn’t seem bad that’s right at $20 each if your not buying enough for free shipping it’s a bit cheaper.

That’s an 11% surcharge. I’ve never bought bullion...is that reasonable?

Don't know, I sold all my silver when the price got as low as I thought it could go without having to pay them to take it. Desperate times back then.:(

I’ve begun to believe that Provident, SD Bullion and JM Bullion share common ownership.

on the one hand it is what it is, on the other I hate to pay more than 5%. Unless you believe that something is happening soon just watch for sales.

Idk honestly. Small amounts on jm bullion are about $19-20 plus $4 shipping if less than $100 I’m going to watch for some sales and maybe pick some up local for his birthday.

I think JM bought Provident a few months ago. Not sure about SD but you may be on to something.

I haven't found a place locally that didn't charge way too much over spot, but I also never heard of those recommended, so I would check them out (probably will do it myself). I always mail-ordered from Apmex.
