Had have a Spectrum tech service call at the house due to Internet outage.
This guy had no problem trash talking some of his colleagues.
Half of his time was spent fixing things that should have been addressed by the first tech that set up the service.
He found that the old input cable was still connected, that should have been removed.
End result, stronger signal for cable and data rate.
Also, I have to go back under and clear out maybe 1000 feet of useless excess cable. Only need the one direct cable connection. Everything else in the house is wireless.

Had the same happen to us with poor quality phone service, a lot of static when it rained. The third tech came out and switched us to a different line at the box, no more problems. Sometimes you have to have patience until the right person shows up and does his job.
Let me clarify, this phone problem was with Embarq/Centry Link.

My two neighbors work for them, both of them are really picky. The stories I hear. Especially when going I to the houses. Wow quick one. They had a guy call and complain about them having to drill a hole into the side of his trailer. Meanwhile while finishing up the job inside. There was a big hole in the middle of his living room that you could see the dirt from underneath the trailer.

I worked for TW 20 years ago; technology has improved vastly, yet human resources stays the same.
I was particularly aggravated by the "can't see it from my house" attitudes and yes, that was verbally expressed to me.

I did go in the crawl space with him.
That ended up saving him a lot of time.
Turned out that at some point, the cable to the den (addition) was run from a splitter under the room farthest away from this room. I said he can just cut that cable and run direct to the main input. No splitters.
Will be a fun clean up.[emoji2]

I'll post a picture of the mess of cables down there.

I had the same experience the last time I had a Spectrum tech out, couple years ago. He cussed the guy that came before him, diagnosed the problem in a quick minute. Got me a brand new Spectrum modem and wifi access point out of truck. Hooked it up and tested everything. Never had whole house wifi before that without a repeater and it was balky. I will probably never get that good a tech again.

Ah Century Stink. We have them out in Chatham County. We bought a house and signed up for DSL (I am lucky to get 10mb, but it watches Netflix fine). They said I could pay $100 to have them come out or they could send me the do it yourself kit. Got the kit, but I knew there was going to be a problem because there was no noise or an audible DSL carrier on the line. Yup, no connection. Called and got them to come out two days later, which is almost unheard of response time. My wife was there and said the guy was rude and said it was probably something stupid I did. 45 minutes later, and she watched him climb a few poles, he came back to the door, hat in hand, and asked if he could come in and test it. It was still cantankerous getting the modem to "register" at first and it kept dropping out until it did. That took about a day or so, but afterwards it has been fine. I make a point of not accessing the modem's built in status web page because that seems to knock it off line, so I play the if it ain't broke don't fix it and it's been about a year now.
