Gauging interest in medical/trauma class....

Very interested but honestly I know making it up to the Durham area would be tough with my schedule.

If you decide to take the show on the road and get towards the CLT area, I’d be all in for a 1/2 day.

Either way, it’s awesome that you’re offering to share your knowledge!

I’m in the same boat. If there was one close to Charlotte I would jump on it.

I'd be interested. I get plenty of battlefield medic training but it's been a coons age since I did anything more in depth.

@Chuckman how would you feel about a very mature 10 year old attending the class with me? My son sits through the classes given at Sage but I'd like him to get a little more hands on and in depth knowledge too. If you're not comfortable with that I understand.

I'd also be interested in two seats at a 1/2 day class near CLT

@Chuckman what's your expertise as I'm unfamiliar?

I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night... (I have always wanted to say that)

EMTP 1991-2009, FMF corpsman, Navy Emergency-Trauma and critical care RN, Navy enroute care RN (ie flight nurse), ED RN, previous TCCC and PHTLS and ITLS instructor.

Now I teach life support for Duke (ACLS, PALS, BLS).

I’d be interested depending on location/date.

I'm interested, schedule & location matter somewhat.
Yes, Charlotte is far....well, everything is far from me! If I'll drive to PHA for gun training and a range day, I'll drive to get some training in other stuff too.....

I highly suggest anyone to take advantage of this offer. Recently I took a first aid course that was offered to my gun club by the trainer for the Charlotte Fire dept. It was a full day course that covered modern CPR and using a defib machine , wound trauma treatments from body to limbs.. I cant stress enough on how this is really important. I learned so much in just one short day and want to learn more..

i'm interested and down in FAY.
what kind of medical class are we talking about?

Interested, pending location/date.

You know more than me prolly

Count me in for a Sat/Sun if close to Charlotte also.

I’m good for a class. Location really doesn’t matter. Let me know a date so I can put it on my retired schedule.

I wouldn’t mind doing one. Red Cross first aid training just teaches bandaids, going over stuff with the medics at Robin Sage teaches us how to make a tourniquet with a stick and dirty underwear. I’d like to have something little more than Red Cross, without the dirty underwear :D

I'm also interested in any class you would be able to offer in the CLT (southern side hopefully) area.
Depending on time/date/class duration and size I may be able to get free use of classroom space at a couple indoor ranges in the area, if that would help.

@Chuckman if you are in need of a location for a Charlotte class, please hit me up. I would be very interested in hosting you down this way.

I would be very interested in attending if you were able to have it in a more central NC location. Say, Winston-Salem?

If I could make it in my schedule when you have it, I would take the day off and drive up.

I have had a few folks reach out asking about a medical/trauma/first aid class. I am happy to do it if there is enough interest. Likely in the Triangle area, but can be portable, too. I can do half day, full day, whatever.

If you carry a gun you should at least have a Stop the Bleed type class. TCCC or similar is better. I have been through Tac Med 101 at Apex a few times, 102 once and Stop the Bleed. I hope your classes fill up! Not everyone can do 8 hour classes, so i think 4 hour may be the sweet spot for getting more people. If it is near Winston Salem you can count me in.

I agree. 8 hours can seem like a pretty huge commitment to overly-busy people. 4 hours tends to seem much more manageable. I just did Tac Med at Apex last Saturday, and I'm very glad I did it. It was a good class and very affordable for all that it offers. But it has taken me something like a year and a half of actively looking to actually be able to find a day where Ryan was offering it and I was able to get there. I don't have a ton of Saturdays free! I really should have done a Stop the Bleed class in the interim while I waited, but I didn't. Probably the dumb reason for that was I knew I was going to take Tac Med as soon as I could and I didn't want to double up on the material, since Tac Med more or less includes Stop the Bleed. But after taking Tac Med I can see that it's pretty good material to double up on. Too much to take in on one pass. I'm planning to take at least one or two of my kids to a Stop the Bleed, as soon as schedules and budgets permit. I need the additional reps.
