Who do you get yours from?
I've always used jacketed but am interested in coated ones.
Also, do you use the same load data as for jacketed?
Thanks

I use lead data but lately plated bullets are close enough in price that I've switched for now.

I use data for lead bullets for my loads. I’ve used Blue Bullets, Ibejiheads, and others but my go-to source is Acme Bullets. Their prices are competitive, shipping is quick, and they come in cool wood boxes :). I reload for .38 Special and .357 magnum mostly, and I like having a crimp groove which Acme offers in most of their bullets for that caliber. I’ve used others that are cast without lube grooves or crimp grooves and, while they have a nice profile, I prefer the grooves. Just my $.02.

This, blue bullets. And use high side lead data, low side jacketed data for your starting points. Or ask here. A lot of competition shooters use blues and reload
Yep.
Gallant and SnS make good bullets too. But 99% of the time if I buy bullets they're Blues.

Missouri and SNS are my main sources. Have used Summers Enterprises as well. Summers is the cheapest I've tried and his coating is not as smooth looking, but I can't tell the difference in accuracy.
Just tried some Brazo recommended by a friend. Seemed as good as any, but selection is limited. Missouri by far has the best selection of different weights and styles that I've seen

Ive experienced that you need slightly more powder for FMJ over Blues, however, its been so long since Ive used cast I dont know where it stood.

For cast bullets I use Lightning Ammo

Coated are Blues

I have a friend out in carson city who recently got back into FMJ. Going through my test phase with them now , but so far so good

never could get Gallants to run right in M&Ps

I've had good luck in the past with bullets from Bayou Bullets, and Missouri Bullets. Most of what I shoot now, in pistol, is plated.

FWIW, I have personally run 124gr .355 blue bullets to 1360+ FPS using slow pistol powder.
No issues at all! Recovered bullets show no issues. No leading at all. The coating is tough.

I switched to FMJ for the sole reason of needing a much firmer crimp to compensate for overstuffing the 9mm case.

She’s in Lexington, SC. Recently partnered with Acme Bullets which is doing the manufacturing.

Placed order in August, got zero response or communication in the two months the order sat there.

Asked for and got refund through paypal.

Just tried an order through Summers. We'll see how it goes, but hitec coat prices are good.

MBC recently trimmed their offerings a good bit. No more .41 & the only .357 is a 158gr LSWC.
Only temporarily, until they catch up with their backlog. But, that may be months.

Now is the time to learn how to cast. The left is not letting up, and everybody needs a backup plan if things go south. You may not want to cast like some of us do...but the knowledge of the skill may come in handy one day.
