Your latest alcohol purchase

Was in Atlanta over the weekend for a wedding and stopped by Tower Liquors. Have had the McKenna and Colonel Taylor but never had this George Dickel.

That Dickel just won whiskey of the year. Get em while you can cause the price will go up. I really like it and wish it was readily available in this area.

FYI, that Dickel BiB is one of the oldest BiB you'll find at 13yo! Its tasty and an amazing value!

Bruichladdich , Kilchoman, Pinhook and 1792 Barrel Pick. Also not pictured, new Bakers. Merry Christmas to me. Cheers gang!

If you liked Buffalo Trace then the next logical step is to grab the same juice aged longer, Eagle Rare, for $34.95 plus tax.

Colonel E.H. Taylor Small Batch at $39.95 is from the same distiller and is generally highly regarded. But also not always easy to find.

But lots of good choices if those are not available.

Wild Turkey Distillery is often overlooked but has some SPECTACULAR choices in that price range.

Wild Turkey Rare Breed and Russell's Reserve are two good ones.

I REALLY enjoy Old Grand Dad Bonded. It's a favorite of mine and it costs a whooping $23.95.

That's two that I can say I really enjoyed and have bought more than once.

.

My neighbor gave me this for Christmas, never had it before. Neither has he, he told me to text him either a thumbs up or a thumbs down when I open it.

Couldnt find a parking place at the liquor store and they were letting people in 1 at a time as 1 person left. Glad I had a back up stash.

Asked a friend at the package shop to get me another bottle of George Dickel BIB. When I walked in he also handed be a bottle of Knob Creek 12. Not really a fan of KC but had to take it.

Pretty good haul today. Been after the Micters 10 for a while! Been a minute since I’ve “found” a Blanton’s. The JW Dandt is a $15 bib for a taste test with JS Brown and Very Old Barton. Cheers!

todays haul. The Dewars was supposed to be the 27. Sent me the 21 instead. Been tha
t kind of week! The Aberlour Is a second bottle for one I really enjoy. The Old Fitz is a $15 ish bottle that a business associate of mine said was his favorite “budget” bourbon. Enough of a recommendation for me to try it. Cheers!

You stated they sent you the wrong Dewars. I thought you could not have liquor shipped to NC?

I might know a few places that ship here. A search on this site should reveal some info on this subject.

When did Seagram's change there label? I am old and do not like change!!!

How about a future purchase? In the garage/workshop/reloading room/man cave I have a refrigerator out there for drinks (water, beer,Gatorade) and in the freezer I have a couple bottles of vodka, rum, American Honey and used to have a bottle of Tin Cup. Thinking about getting another bottle tin Cup Bourbon. I know it only matters to me and what I like but interested in other's options on tin Cup.

Could not find the Tin Cup 10 so I settled on Evan Williams Single Barrel. I know this is a middle self bourbon. But the first time I had it was about 8 years ago. It was really a good pour. When that bottle was gone I bought another one that I had to mix it with ginger ale to drink it. Lets see what this one brings.

Interesting.......in October, November and December all I wanted to do was see what came in at the package shop. Today I had 15 to 20 minutes free about 1/2a mile from where I always buy and did not stop in even to say hello.

You've been killing it recently! Easy to get caught up in the fever and then look around and say "whoa!" The hunt is thrilling and easy to overdo. I am planning on pumping the brakes for awhile. Scotch tariffs have got me scared though
and I've been concentrating on that recently. Found out today that Lagavulin 16 is going up $20 per bottle! Yikes!

Was doing some work outside of Savannah and was told that i need to stop by a package shop there. Prices were ok and found a bottle of this. I had a version of it before an liked it.

Recent purchases. Cheers!

Went to the package shop to see if they still had some gift sets left over from Christmas and they did but not the set that had the small glasses. I was getting ready to walkout and Barbara (Always Right - my wife) said that she thought I need some of that scotch everybody likes so I walked out with a bottle of Aberfeldy. VERY GOOD!

Does alcohol accessories count?

I bought some Ice Ball trays. I been using 2x2x1.5" ice cubes.

Anyone know anything about the Barrel Whiskey, infinite barrel project in the middle? Stopped in an ABC in Elkin right off 77 this week and picked these up.

mj1angier, I really like the Yellowstone. They have one that is on the harder list to get. When I find it, it will be mine. Enjoy

How's that Talisker Select Reserve? I like their regular stuff a bunch, as well the Storm. I'm guessing the Ardbeg 19 is a big, peaty monster? I had a Bunnahabhain 18 that would put hair on yer chest. Good stuff, but not a whisky for the meek.
Haven’t tried the Talisker yet. The Ardbeg is surprising. It’s not a smack in the face as you might suspect. I think that peaty whiskeys that mature for longer periods lose that smack in the face for a more balanced profile. I think the 19 Ardbeg and the 25 Laphroaig that I have tried are my most favorite whiskys. The peat marries with the other flavors for a very rounded flavor. My opinion and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. Cheers!

In before the tariffs! Cheers!

I just went to the package shop tonight to see if the prices have changed. The manager said that he did increase the price of a couple higher end scotches by $10. Everything else looked the same. Not being a big scotch drinker, not sure I wanted to buy the higher end bottles.
