Yeah, ouch! That’ll sting for those guys now knowing they could’ve bought a brand new one for a few hundred less and theirs just dropped $500 in value overnight. To every person that bought a shooter-grade Python in 2019 for $1,700+... and justified it to his- or herself, and spouse, as an investment...
RIP. You could not have known.
Perfect comparison...………………...I think it will kinda be like original Swiss P210 vs the “American” P210 ... it’s close but not quite the same.
Okay, ya got your 1967 SS Camaro and ya got ya 2019 Camaro, pick one......
I'll give one a look-see. DW 715's coming up toward the top of my list & I'll want to fondle them side by side before making a decision.
I like the 715, but Dan Wesson’s have a “mechanical” feel to them that is different from Colts and Smiths, it’s hard to explain but my 715 and 14 both do it.
Yeah that gentlemen GoldenWebb seems a very nice guy, means well, & I’m sorry he got a lemon out of the box, but his Python malfunctioning may be a blessing in disguise for him. We’ve all been guilty of a flinch, but he needs to just dry fire his for awhile & randomly load his to work on getting rid of his. Watching his his videos on the Python is like watching how to get rid of your flinch drills.
Now back to my glass house...
While I believe it will be a good revolver I think it will kinda be like original Swiss P210 vs the “American” P210 ... it’s close but not quite the same. I doubt the craftsmen and their meticulous hand fitting that built the original Pythons from 1950’s ‘til Colt went away cause of the bean counters can be revived today.
Now will I want a new version ... most likely especially with a $1500 MSRP and sometime down the road lower street price but I won’t be thinking it will replace my Dad’s early 80’s Python.
I wanted to collect a older one until the new ones came out. I’m sold! I even went to Hyatt’s to see about ordering one. Well, as someone that has taken numerous CFS at that location and been treated very well with their Blue Line pricing, they marked it up $100 and wouldn’t bring it down to MSRP. Needless to say, I was thoroughly disappointed.
Sportsman's Outdoor had some in stock the other day at MSRP and they lasted most of the day. With all the problems that have popped up with them I bet you will be able to pick one up under MSRP in less than a month.
