Anyone know if any places near Boone ir West Jefferson thatl buy scrap brass? My bin for shot out cases is nearing its capacity and getting ready to over flow..

Ive gone to some place right in N. Wilkesboro before, but they said its a pain for them to deal with and wouldnt take any more.

I was debating doing a diy furnace and melt it down myself, but who has time these days..

No input? What about Winston..?

There is a place in Winston. I’ve taken brass there myself in the last 30 days. I don’t remember the name but if you look for recycling metal in Winston Salem, you will find it. And btw, they will give you money for it.

Thx.. you happen to remember where abouts they were? Looks like a few there..
Also, any idea on $ per kb? I think I only got 1.30ish last time in wilkesboro...

Yellow brass is scrapping for about $1 a lb. You'd be better off turning the headstamps into jewelery and sell on Etsy has than wasting a gallon of gas or 2 driving to the bone-rapers. Metal prices are going to stay in the toilet under Trump's Chinese tariff action and the Corona virus. I have plenty of storage for my scrap brass until it goes back up to $5 a lb.

Now the flip side to this is that it is THE time to buy used lead in whatever form you can find it.
It's .30 a lb right now spot price.
