Stealing dept property

Something similar happened in Kernersville a while back. An evidence clerk was caught stealing from evidence lockers. I think it was less than $10k that she ended up with over the years.

Stuff like this irritates me because people are ruining their entire lives over peanuts.

I knew a GySgt in the Corps with 19 years in...

..1 year from retirement in 1990.

He got caught with a pair of ANVIS 4 goggles he was trying to sell.

Reduced to E1 and straight to Leavenworth, Do not collect $200!

Idiots!!!!!

I knew a truck driver that was stealing rolls of copper to sell for scrap from a mine he'd married into getting a decent royalty from, like enough to make you wonder why he worked... Lost job, royalty, believe wife, and got jail time.

Happens over here in our circle, as well...

With both departmental and personal property.

Seen it.

Stupid games win stupid prizes. Greed makes people do some amazingly ridiculous things.

Yep, APD had a bit of an issue back in 2011. Guns, drugs & money missing from the evidence room. I'm sure it was an isolated incident.

On the flip side, I have an friend that got a 2nd chance at a better life because there was no evidence left in the evidence locker when it was time for his trial...
Worked out great for him!
Charges were dropped.

I could never be a cop. I’d be fired and in jail within month tops. All I would do is just rob drug dealers, disappear child abusers, kill and then plant weapon (if not already armed) on sick f#%%s like that guy who set girl on fire i on ther day.

Wonder how much those radiation detectors went for?

Shortly after I started my current job, there was a case where a couple of guys took a bunch of heavy copper power wire and got caught with it. They claimed they were told to get it and take it to surplus it or something (I forget). The catch was they got caught at a Wendy’s so their story didn’t hold water, but they were allowed to just return the wire and it was dropped.

Several years back there was a picture of a S&W Model 10 on the cover of the Rifleman. It had been used in bank robberies, armed robbery, and several shootings in New York, Philly, DC, Atlanta, and Miami. It had been confiscated by the Police in Each incident. Back out on the street each time.

Where I work we pay an outside company to come get our copper, then they sell it to a recycling company. I wish I for paid twice
