Recommend me a AIWB holster for my shield. The remora I have been using for the past 4 years has lost its grip.

I also have a Vedder with the claw for a CZ and like the holster style, but not the metal clip.

Seeing what options you guys have found that work well and are comfortable.

I really like Vedder IWB without the clip for my Shield. I have several for different guns, all very comfortable.

I’m too fat to appendix but the Tulster Holster works great for AIWB! This one is a little flashy of course but they offer standard stuff as well.

It’s kind of on the pricey side, but I’m sitting in the office right now and comfortable and completely unnoticeable with a CZ P-07 with 18 rounds and a 17rd spare mag. Has 2 clips, a claw on the grip side, and a flex in the middle that lets it move with you. I've tried a few and this is BY FAR the most comfortable AIWB I've ever worn. Wear it everyday, and even in a t-shirt it conceals extremely well. Even with the threaded barrel and +2 mags, I sometimes forget I've got it on.

@Skaufma0 do the holster designs like the Tier 1 have a huge comfort advantage?

I typically do not carry an extra mag so this would be a big difference for me.

Ive tried a ton a different holsters and this is one of my favorites. The claw really makes a difference with AIWB carry and I won’t use a holster without it now. Can’t beat the price either.

What is it about the claw that seals the deal?

I've carried appendix with my regular IWB holster and it is not ideal. Almost seems like gun is too low. Never tried the claws.

I was skeptical about having the mag attachment on the holster. The cool thing about this one is that the flex point is snapped together with some really strong buttons, and the clips can be moved around. So if you don't want to use the mag carrier it just snaps off. Having it on there though spreads the weight out along the belt, so it doesn't pull or move in one spot, that's the main reason it's so comfortable, and the fact that it flexes in the middle. I'll see if I can get a shot of just the holster for you so you can see what I mean. Mine has the optic cut, mid height sweat shield, and the threaded barrel and suppressor height sight option.

I second this recommendation. If you like Vedder but not the clip, this is a great alternative and less than half the price.

wash the Remora with dawn dish detergent and it will be grippy again.

I did try this multiple times a couple months ago. I think it wasn’t dawn but a good dish soap. The holster holds in place except for on draw.

I just noticed the outer material is starting to crack, and that prompted this thread.

On my Vedder holster, my p01 would print badly until I purchased the claw. The claw tucked the grip in enough that I can conceal the p01 in some of my tighter tshirts.

It puts tension on your belt, drawing the grip into your body. This makes it easier to conceal even full size pistols.

Thanks fellas. Gonna try one of those you posted Derek. So affordable.
I've had a hard time aiwb, even with my 42! Just digs in.

I've been making some leather ones. Single clip with mod wing that are pretty small. And the larger tactical cod piece, AKA aide car holsters. Mostly for the P365 and XL but would not be hard to work one up for the shield.

I bought the clips I linked you too. so my adjustment range is not standard with this holster.

So in your case with the new clips, is the top of the holster accessible with the weapon drawn? Or will the belt and waist line of the pants cover the holster opening?

I guess it will not make a big difference if you holster the weapon first, before placing the holster and all AIWB.

Any photos of these?

For the single I have several clip options. The larger one has a 5 hole c clip option.

Digging the single option. Part of the reason I like the Remora was because it was much more flexible than kydex. This definitely interests me.

Few questions:
Is the leather at the claw portion stiff enough to affect grip position? Will this area wear in over time and eventually twist the “claw” so that the grip no longer presses in?

I would love to know pricing on these. Feel free to PM if you don’t want to post in the open forum.

The leather under the wing is 2 layers of 8oz leather, it's plenty stiff. Leather always breaks in. But what you are talking about should not be an issue. The wing will always be pushed back by the belt. And it's pushing into the body. So I don't expect it to break in where it would not longer do any of that since it's being supported front and back. It's not like the wing on a pancake that is taking the weight of the gun. FWIW, the way I make these the grip is naturally twisted back in the holster. Kind of a happy accident but I stumbled onto a way to build the pattern so they tend to mold with a grip to the rear position also.

I'm getting $80 shipped on etsy with the mod wing and utiliclip. I could go $75 shipped with any of my nylon clips.

claw feature makes a HUGE difference with appendix carry. less "butt sticking out" by a huge margin; definitely get a holster with the claw

I forgot -- I'd also recommend the Crossbreed Reckoning if you like hybrids.

Make sure it's got a claw!! This made a huge difference for me, started with a We the People (no claw) and was not nearly as comfortable and the grip would print out against my shirt. I switched to a Red River (with claw) and it's super comfortable & disappears.

I'm now sold on AIWB carry, switched from 4 o' clock & kept worrying about my grip popping out whenever I leaned over at all.
I'm 160# & carry a shield.

JM Custom Kydex Wing Claw 2.o with DCC clips and optional foam wedge. Discreet, comfortable, durable, safe, and both the gun and holster will retain even during grappling and other physical maneuvers.

I’ve been looking for an AIWB holster for a P245. Anyone here use one or know a company that makes one in kydex?
