Dang... I was just down that way.
What's the lowdown on the "Mega Show" on March 16/17?
I need to get a table at a show soon to rotate some stock (militaria and some modern and vintage firearms). This one sounds promising, but I have never heard of it. Would it be worth the trip?
The past couple of years I have gotten a table at one of the Old North State shows at the Raleigh Fairgrounds. They have been interesting shows, but I just don't feel like the organizers are doing their due diligence to promote it. The foot traffic is pretty low.

I don't have any affiliation with the show in any way...just a spectator. I've been to both shows in Columbia and can say that both are worth going to. The show at the SC Fairgrounds is usually the larger show normally (even when it's not the Mega Show) as there is physically more space there than the Jamil Temple. To be honest, since we are "show-less" in Charlotte, Columbia's shows are the closest (literally), next best thing to the shows like we used to have the in "big city" of Charlotte.

The details about the March 16 & 17 "Mega Show" at the SC Fairgrounds in Columbia are listed in the original link above. It looks like it's still a "go."

Myself and a group of buddies are heading down tmw.

Do you need to buy tickets in advance or there will be the possibility to buy them at the event itself?

The Charlotte ones used to be great. What happened?

COVID and liberal politics.

Not a bad show, but not a great one either. Far too many knife venders. Not many deals that i saw, but that wasn’t stopping anyone. Plenty of sales being made. I brought home a nice little CZ457 myself, One my buddies bought a 6.5gr AR and another bought a cheap 12ga

The gun show was a fair one like Pogue stated. Nothing that would make me click my heels but I enjoyed seeing some things I don't see as often. Seemed like a decent mix of collectables and military surplus.

Well, in Charlotte, we had two locations for the gun shows. One was the Metrolina Expo grounds in north Charlotte. The other was The Park (formerly "The Merchandise Mart") on Independence near downtown. The Metrolina Expo grounds were redeveloped into other commerical-type properties (I believe) and The Park was bought by a church. For a few years, the church seemed OK with accepting gun show money and then it wasn't OK with it.

End result? No gun shows for a city with over 1.2 MILLION people just in Mecklenburg County alone and not counting the rest of the Metropolitan Statistical Area! Sad but true . . .

The "Mega Show" on March 16-17, 2024 at the SC Fairgrounds in Columbia is usually a great event. There's usually two giant buildings that are chock-full of vendors and the prices seem to be more "reasonable" as there's more competition (selection?). The prices vary, of course, but there seem to be more "deals" to be had at the "Mega Show." I hope that that still holds true at next month's show!
