Has anyone been to this show I am wondering if it is any good and how big it is. I would been traveling from Boone NC about 21/2 or 3 hours away.

It’s a good show normally and a big show given it’s in two different buildings (when it's spread over 2 or more buildings it becomes the "Mega Gun Show"). Given that Charlotte doesn’t have gun shows anymore, it’s worth it to me to drive from Charlotte to Columbia (~1.5 hours one-way) to attend. Personally, I don’t think I’d drive from Boone to go, though! Just my two cents…

Cool, I'll have to try and head down there this weekend.

If you're coming from out of town and want to try some columbia based places nearby..
Meat and 3 place, try The Lizards Thicket, there are multiple around Columbia.
Good burger, pattymelt, sub $20 steak try the Kingsmen.

If you're willing to spend some coin then The Black Rooster is one of the best Italian places in the SouthEast, or the Halls Chophouse there is very good too.

All of those places are great! If you want a good burger or some of the best fried chicken you’ll ever eat, there’s place just across the river in Cayce-West Columbia called, “Zesto’s” too. There is also a local fast food chain that sells hamburgers and chicken and grape milkshakes called, “Rush’s.”

I had forgotten about Zesto's, it is great. Rush's is good, it's a DQ, Bantem Chef, etc type place that's local to Columbia. There is also What A Burger (not the national chain), they've been there since like 1950 or so and they have great burgers and chicken strips. If you're down in five points The Salty Nut is a great little place.
I like midwoods smokehouse too, they have one off 77 near the base and it has a Duck doughnuts in the same parking lot so that one is hard to pass up sometimes too.
Now all I have to do is not be lazy in the morning and get up and drive down.

Is this bigger, better than the gunshow at the Geenville convention center? I just moved to the Spartanburg area last November.

Never been to the Greenville show. For me in CLT, we have no local options unless you count Columbia "local." It's worth the 1 ½ hour drive down there. Besides, if you have options, you could go to both. Wish I had that "problem"! 😆 We used to have two (2) gun shows in Charlotte a while ago but not anymore.

Greenville is already a big show by any metric and this one's a good bit bigger. Definitely worth attending.

The Dairy Bar on Rosewood is in the Zesto's family. Best fried chicken and coleslaw. Not sure if they still have them but they used to have the crinkle fries.

I just left. Nothing special, but there was a big crowd. Not a lot of buying going on except new guns in the $300-500 range. I was amazed at the asking prices on used stuff. Some were actually comical. I asked one guy about a S&W and when he told me his price, I laughed out loud because I thought he was making a joke. He was offended and got very defensive. I did apologize and walked away. There was a lot of military items on display that was interesting. It was great to see a good turnout. Maybe Gun Shows will be around a while longer.

I was there from 1 to 3 pm. While walking around, I saw an Hk P7 on display for $7,000. My own P7 is in much better condition than that one. And I didn't even pay 1k for it back then(about 20 years ago). Nothing caught my fancy. Although I looked into a Bersa 380 Thunder Plus. But it was $410. I think I've seen it for 350 at one of the online stores. And it was hard chrome finish or whatever they call it.

My favorite was the unconverted .410 Saiga for $2200.

When I pulled in to the show today two cops ran by yelling stop put your hands up. I guess someone snatched a gun. I also guy with a real wooden peg leg. Only a couple of good prices. Very nice Military Display.
