The passenger side unit bearing went out in my daughter’s 2007 Nissan Xterra several months ago and I replaced it with a Moog unit. A month or so later, the driver side went and I replaced it with a Moog and replaced the rotors and brakes pads on both sides. Since then, the ABS, VDC Off and Slip lights stay on. It doesn’t perform a check at start up, just constantly stays on. I don’t believe the driver side unit bearing is bad but could be wrong. Any suggestions before I swap it out for a new one?

ABS harness plugged in good and tight, no bent or pushed out pins in the connectors?

There is no play in the connection on the unit bearing or the connector. I will need to unplug it to check on the pins

I unplugged the harness and the pins look fine. I do have the original harness that I may swap in and see if that works. Is there a way to reset the light since it doesn’t seem to be checking at the moment?

I know less than nothing about ABS brakes but I had a truck once that the light came on and all I had to do was disconnect the battery and reconnect to get it to go out.

Have you had the code read? Might want to have that done.

All I know of is a scan tool capable of reading Asia ABS

I have not been able to read the codes since I can’t find anyone with a tool that works on a Nissan

Edit: found a shop by my office that “specializes” in imports. I will stop by there tomorrow

Then its time to pay da man. Find you a decent shop and get it diagnosed at a minimum.
Diagnostic fee is a lot cheaper than $5000 scan tool or a lot of wasted time and effort at guessing.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news

Not unless you buy a crap-on scanner and get screwed on it....paid nearly three times that for mine.

Love my OTC Encore. Sadly, just a tad over 5g's with an annual fee of $1500 yearly for current up dates that come a few times a year.

Turns out the driver’s side unit bearing is fine, the passenger side one failed. Guess I know what I am doing Sat morning
