Got one of the eBay 10/22 single shot bolt block adapters; wanted to see if I could make my 10/22 a little quieter and maybe make it 'good enough' for use in the yard where I normally run a 22 bolt action (so I can sell off the bolt gun and reduce my rimfire rifle count).
Just a quick test tonight, and... it seems to work. Magnets hold it on the bolt and it doesn't cycle or fly off or anything. No idea how much damage this could be doing to the gun forcing the bolt to stay closed like that via the charging handle, but it's a 22 and there is a lot of metal in there... so...?
I'll fire some groups at the range next time both with and without the adapter, see if it shifts the POI or anything. Could up the velocity too, in theory.
I went with the anodized red one, easier to find if it falls off. Kinda wish they put a ring on it, having a piece of paracord dangling or attached to the stock would be handy to prevent loss.
