I’m not talking bacon that comes from turkey or tofu; I’m talking about real bacon. Well, believe it or not, there are some reasons to avoid bacon.
- Your religion instructs you to not eat pork.
If this is the case, I understand. Chances are, though, your religion allows you to eat all sorts of other delicious, wonderful fatty foods.
- You have an allergy to bacon.
If this is the case, I really feel bad for you. But, if you break out in hives, or can’t breathe, or your heart stops beating permanently if you take a bite of bacon, then bacon is really bad for you. And you should avoid it.
- You’re a vegan or a vegetarian.
There are many people who are vegans or vegetarians, and they have many reasons for their decisions. If you are a vegan or a vegetarian, you should step away from the bacon permanently. Bacon is not a delicious vegetable. So you should avoid it.
- Bacon doesn’t fit your budget.
If you can’t find time for a part time job, or you haven’t won the lottery, and bacon doesn’t fit into your budget, you should probably avoid bacon.
- You’re doing a water fast.
Bad news here. If you are in the middle of a water fast, bacon is a lot of things, but it is not water. You need to step away from the bacon.
- You don’t like the B Vitamins.
If you don’t like B Vitamins, you should steer clear of the bacon. Apparently, there is Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6 and B12 in bacon. Who knew?
- You don’t like bacon juice.
One of the side effects of cooking bacon, is that left over grease or “bacon juice”. Many people collect it in jars, or use it to fry eggs and other tasty dishes. But, if you don’t like bacon juice, you shouldn’t make bacon, or eat it.
- You can’t eat salt.
Salt is used in the process of curing and preserving bacon. You can buy uncured bacon, which can be salt free, but tread carefully here. For sure, step away from the cured bacon.
- You don’t know how to cook it.
If you don’t cook bacon properly, you can get trichinosis, which is a serious problem. Learn to cook before you cook and eat your own bacon.
- You don’t like the taste.
Yes, that is sad, but there are people who don’t like the taste of bacon.
But there is good news, though. Even if you don’t eat bacon, for any of the reasons listed above, you can still lose fat, and enjoy good health, eating a low-carb, high-fat, ketogenic diet. There are plenty of other foods too eat, beside bacon, that are a nutritious source of fat and will allow you to enjoy these many health benefits.
So, if you don’t eat bacon, or you do eat bacon, continue to be awesome.
