Exactly this. I bought more guns and magazines every time "they" introduced legislation in Illinois. Every. Time.

They try this every once in a while.

Ammunition was a big one they thought they could tax/regulate to death because "that's not 'arms' protected by the Second Amendment". They lost because you can't have one without the other in any meaningful way, therefore it's also protected.

Let's tax electric vehicles similarly, since they don't use gas/diesel and therefore must be directly taxed for road maintenance.
 
So anyone find it comical, ironic whatever word you choose that the left is trying to indict Trump for violating the constitution on technicality. Isn’t the left violating it every time that they do anything gun related? I mean it’s pretty clear “shall not be infringed” isn’t shall not be infringed unless Democrats want it done

I’ll just buy them untaxed 30 round mags for the Ruger American Ranch Rifle.

I think @amyracecar is alluding to the fact that they want to tax assault gun type magazines but they fail to understand that some guns that may be bolt action use that same magazines as semi auto magazines. Some semi auto magazines are only 10 rounds mags in one gun and the very same magazine is 30 rounds in a different gun (5.56 vs 50 beowulf). They don't understand it and choose not to and it makes them look really stupid.

and the fact that they still use the term assault weapon - I still don't know what that actually [legally] means besides some cosmetic stuff [it looks scary]..
and that they continue to conflate military grade [full auto] firearms with semi/auto firearms
[eg 'designed for use on the battlefield']

there is no excuse for their willful ignorance at this point
 
They have to fund college loan forgiveness someway somehow right?

I had a neighbor that got charged with assault with a deadly because he lunged his ATV at this other dude.
The ATV was the weapon.
