What kind of accuracy/ range could one get out of a 16" 308? I played around with a R700 AAC-SD with a 16" barrel. I was thinking that using with my suppressor, it would knock down the length and should still be able to keep so decent accuracy.

I get about 2650fps from my rem 700 16" 308 with 175smk fgmm. Easily sub moa.
I shoot 168gr TMKs in my 16.5" R700 with suppressor. Mine are a little slower than the good Doc's up there (2500fps ish) but not by a ton; Im getting great accuracy and I don't need the velocity for more than a few hundred yards. They still hit with authority.
Edit: That's with RE15. Alliant 2000-MR gets me more speed but it's a ball powder

barrel length is not more or less accurate than the other (if thing are equal) velocity is the only pro/con for short or longer barrels. As on as the bullet you are using will stabilized in the barrel..just send it.

I'm flirting with sticky bolt using 4064 or Varget in a 20" tube to get 2650fps.
I'd be very interested in the combo that gets you 2650 in a 16".

I have a bunch of 147s Privi loaded, and some 175s loaded up also. 147s I'll use to play with at the range, and in my AR10.
I’ve reloaded with 150gr SST’s, PPU cases, CCI 250 primers, 51gr CFE223, 2.80 OAL. It’s good for 2700 fps and under 1” in my 16.5”GSR. This load will be used for deer hunting this year.
