Interesting 1911 came up for sale locally. Slide appears to be an arsenal replacement marked “M1911 U.S. ARMY”.
I have seen replacement slides marked “M1911A1 US ARMY” . I suppose this slide was replaced before the A1?
I know this is minutiae but for collectors I found it interesting.
