Looks good, but how realistic is the guy's rank...

Saw the preview for this on the big screen before Ford vs Ferrari last night.

Definitely looks intense. Another trailer:

Just bought a ticket for tomorrow evening.

Anybody else seen it?

My wife and I saw it friday night. I enjoyed it and thought it was one of the better war movies that I've seen in a long while. It blew Midway out of the water.

I'm not as up on WW1 history though I have an understanding of things, I think it covered a lot of the horrors you read about that time and conveyed the terror and depression that must have been so prevalent at that time in the war.

Really looking forward to seeing this. Can’t even think of a AAA world war 1 movie. It’s a very interesting period in human history.

with all the great things our specifies has invented, industrialized war is probably one of our lowest points, surpassed only by nuclear weapons.

Really makes me think hard about the concept of “advanced life forms” and the notion that others may have very well existed, but inevitably erased themselves. The theory is universal, applying to any civilization and speculated that once reaching a certain level of technology and energy exploitation is achieved the species is at a critical junction where it has the capability to advance exponentially, or just as easily and even more quickly destroy itself. 20th century was certainly proof we are in that critical period.

I’ve been told that the “single shot” style of this one makes it real interesting. Sounds like it’s almost told in real time?

I'm really happy to see more WW1 movies being made. I haven't seen this one yet, but I really want to. I thought War Horse was amazing, and I think you all should see They Shall Not Grow Old if you can.

Well...it’s not gonna win feel-good movie of the year. :D

Really enjoyed it. Definitely had a twist I wasn’t expecting.

And the single-shot method was very interesting. Really only one exception during the entire movie.

Anybody else gone to see it?

Enjoyed John’s take on it...~6-1/2 minutes.

Went to see it the other night. Really enjoyed it. GF cried a bunch through it. I thought it was well made.

I dropped my oldest off at the skate park yesterday and went to see it. I thought it was really good. I don’t keep up with awards but it should probably win anything doing with cinematography and editing. Lots of British actors you’d recognize if you watch Sherlock and Dr. Who.

I will see it, but never in a theater.
I think you’re missing out. Find a weekday 10am showing and go see it on a big screen. ~$5 for AMC before noon, or all day Tuesdays.

If you haven't seen this one then you need to.
WWI flick. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I forgot to mention I found it on Amazon Prime.

Yup. I dragged the wife to see it in the theater when it came out. She even got pulled into it.

There was a lot of chatter when it came out about the filming style, essentially the movie was filmed as a "single take", with almost no cut aways. Incredible work.

I got to see it a few months ago, and I thought it was an outstanding film. Definitely very engaging.

Excellent movie. I agree about the twist that happened 2/3rds or so of the way through - I did not see that coming.
