Ok, talked my Dad out of his Remington made 1917 Enfield. 30-06 caliber, plan on making it a dedicated cast bullet shooter.
It is not in original condition, having been sporterized back in the 60's (I think).
Plan on a better scope. 50 yd groups of 1 - 2 " with a 180 g round nose. Recoil not bad with loads I was shooting. 12 and 14 g of Unique, 10 g of Red Dot iirc.
100 yd group of 3".
I remember my Dad shooting a three hole cloverleaf with this rifle at 100 yds.

A .30-06 cast load that I was given years ago was 9gr Unique under a 165gr flat-nose hard-cast bullet. A very soft shooter and quite accurate at 100yards. If the bore is pitted you'll probably see some leading. Another option would be a 110/125gr jacketed bullet load

Nice, I need to cast some .312" boolits for my 1895 MLE in .303. Got to keep these old warhorses barking.
