Requesting opinions on the front end look of these Explorers. We have a 2013 and are very happy with it. Down the road, we would like to get another one.

However, I'm not thrilled with what Ford did to the front end. The big boxy headlights and blinkers kind of turn me off.

Any opinions out there? I know. It's a Ford. But this one has been a very nice vehicle for us with zero problems.

My wife has a 2016 XLT which we really like.

Sorry for the confusion. We really like our 2013 Explorer Sport (pictured at the top). I'm sure the 2016 and later models run and handle just as good as our 2013. My main goal with this thread was to get some feedback on what y'all think of the changes that Ford made to the front of the Ford Explorer Sport starting with the 2016 model year. I personally think the 2013 -15 models look better in the front. That's all I was after. Thanks.

I like the squared off look better. That's move SUV-esque to me.

Everything about the 2013-2015 appeared to me to be an attempt to copy the look of the range rover design. From the front end to the sloped back.

That was a hot look for range rover in 2012.

But to me there isn't one I prefer looks wise to the other. They are both adequate.

We still get comments from total strangers, "Hey nice Range Rover" lol. That's why I like the looks of 2013 - 15 model. It has a sleeker look.

Not that I couldn't live with the looks of a newer one. They'll probably change it again by the time we are ready for a new one anyway.

But you're spot on about the Range Rover look.

I dont care for either as that's what the troopers drive up this way.

But as far as looks I like the 16+

I’ve got a 14 that the wife drive. Just put the second set of tires on it Friday. It’s a Platinum Performance model, and I’ll run! This is the 6th Explorer that she’s had. It Titanium White and shines like a new penny when clean. I took it in for service today and the girl at the dealer told me that it’s the third vehicle today that the VIN ended with 666. I told her it’s my wife’s car and she’s a demon!

The older ones look nicer too me also. So if you must have a Ford find your self a used low milage one like you have.
