Greetings everyone!

The 2017 NSSF World Rimfire Championship was held last weekend and many of our forum members competed. In fact, we had about 30 or so people from NC travel to Alabama for the three day competition.

There were 312 guns. Some people shot more than one Division.

Here is a list of the notable finishes of those who came from North Carolina:

- Canaan Birchett finished 3rd in Men's Open
- Zach Grubb finished 2nd in Men's Limited
- Tina Gregory Luck finished 2nd in Lady's Open & 3rd in Lady's Limited
-Caitlin Hendrix Parham finished 3rd in Lady's Open
- Cris Mercaldo finished 3rd in Men's Limited & 1st in the Tandemkross Side match
- Justin Childress came in 1st in a Smith & Wesson Corp. side match.
- Bryant VanTassel finished third in Youth Open

DPRC 2-Gun held 7 places in the top 25. Even I did okay.

This is a tremendous accomplishment by @Cmercaldo and is a testament to his efforts to grow the match at Durham Pistol and Rifle Club. Our shooters walked away with about a third of the awards from Worlds.

Not everyone is in the picture below because things got a bit chaotic after the awards ceremony.

We've got something special going on over at DPRC. If you are interested in getting started just reply to this thread. We would love to have you join us.

Once again @Studentofthegun is being a bit too humble. He left off the part where he took 12th in open (19th overall) which surpassed his goal of top 25. Great match by all.

And to echo his comments - if you've ever been curious about competitive shooting, this is a great match to start with. Plenty of people with plenty of shooting tips, and they're all willing to out a gun I your hand to try out.

Good job y'all.
Such a great match at DPRC. It's where I got bit by the competition bug.

If you ever had any desire to compete for fun, or you have youngsters who show interest, you will not find a better place to start. Period.

They have a very welcoming, accessible, family friendly atmosphere out there. People are generous and will do whatever they can to help you have fun. And you WILL have fun.

That's very true!

Congrats all, very well done!

Congrats to everyone! I had a great time shooting and hanging out with everyone. I don't think I have laughed as hard as I did this past weekend with all the shinanigans in a long time. DPRC holds a great match and I hope everyone plans to attend. It is a great family environment!

Yeah between Chillgasm, Boomhauer, and the Green Cloud I gotta say I haven't laughed that much since I was a teenager.
