With a soft point I would do a neck shot but make sure to put it in the spine as has been said. Another option is a to use a TSX or Partition and do a high shoulder shot. I use the the 60 gr Nosler Partition is my 22-250 and have shot them in both places. The just drop like hit by lightning.
