24 Hours in Charleston

Planning a quick jaunt down to Charleston... planning to stay Friday night in Charleston and Saturday head downtown to Kiawah Island, Folly Island, Johns Island area for the day.

Suggestions on what not to miss....
Looking for a nice dinner or bar Friday night in Charleston and then anything else we should see in our travels?

PSA in Mt. Pleasant. We actually like Mt. Pleasant area much better. Plenty of excellent places to eat on Shem Creek.

If you want to shoot for FREE outdoors, take a side trip out to http://www.dnr.sc.gov/shooting/ranges/twinponds.html

Twin Ponds DNR rifle range just got refurbed in 2018, and it looks nice. last time I was there they had no range officer and it was kinda sketchy

On the way to Folly Beach, about 5 miles before you get to FB....on the right.

if it's summertime, take some insect repellent or your thermocell if you sit outside on the deck facing the creek. GREAT steam pots full of seafood goodness and local craft beers.

It's dog friendly out on the deck as well. They finally paved the road in on the island...if your driving in what looks to be someone's driveway and you pass some houses, you're on the right path

Love Shem Creek!! Red's Ice House on the creek. Dog friendly and the shrimp burgers and beer are great.

Grab lunch at Rodney Scott's BBQ before you leave. You won't regret it. One of the best bbq sandwiches I've had.

I did not.... I do not have a runner's physique...owever while I was sitting in at the bar inside one of the restaurants, I did run across some co-workers who were there to run.

I will recommend Husk to anyone that doesn’t mind spending a few extra dollars on dinner. Their bar has an extensive whiskey menu and the food is fantastic. Sean Brock won a James Beard award at that restaurant and it’s easy to see why.
